Overview

Captain Tristan Kelley enjoys the luxuries of Regency service, as well as the pleasure of his Prince's bed. It's an easy life, if not a happy one. When the Prince decides to take a trip through the perilous Blind Space, Tristan must go with him, but somebody in the Prince's guard is a traitor.

Blind and held prisoner, Tristan finds himself at the mercy of Valero, a pirate who bears no love for the Regency. Valero is determined to seduce Tristan, and Tristan fears his resolve won't last. His duty is clear, but so is his desire. As the days tick by with no word or ransom from the Regency, Tristan begins to question what loyalty means to his Prince, the Regency he's sworn to, and to the man who holds him captive. He begins to realize that being a prisoner may actually set him free.

    A great book

I usually HATE first person but this book was Awesome!
Sexy, erotic, and spine numbing hottness. AH!
Pot is great, characters are totally relatable and sexy, and the world is exciting. The ending is a bit anti-climactic but it makes sense given the situation the characters were in and the author does make fun of it. This author has sexual tension down packed! I would definitely read anything she writes in the future.

    more from this reviewer

    Highly Recommended

So I was initially a little put off paying $5.99 for a novella, but really this is the perfect length. At about 200 pages it's short enough to finish easily in a day (and still have a life), but all those pages are used well. There is the set-up of your typical sci-fi world with a bigger empire who is trying to control resources and individual societies/planets are trying to rebel, so they cover this but don't insult our intelligence by overly explaining too much, we get it. And the information is given within the context of the characters lives.

Although there are side characters that we meet and that the MC's interact with (Ranick, Pierce, Jarold), really most of the time is spent with interactions between Valero and Tristan which I think helped to develop such strong characters and character relationships in the shorter length. I loved the development of their relationship and thought Tristan reacted and progressed realistically given the situation. I loved the addition of Tristan's eyesight and his naughty little secret. And it was just good fun!
