Overview

At a celebratory church gathering, a strange malady sends many members scurrying for the bathrooms. The mysterious illness halts a fund-raising event intended to kick off plans for building a new church, and drives Reverend Wilson both to prayer and to find the cause.

Evidence leads the pastor to suspect members of his own congregation, while the church faces deadlines to build on the land or lose it. Couple this with racing against completion of a nearby business that could cause loss of the congregation's right to build on the land, and the pastor becomes a reluctant sleuth. Vandalism to the church, to the pastor's personal property and both successful and attempted murder push Reverend Wilson to risk his life to find out the truth and protect his flock.

Editorial Reviews

Donna Sundblad
A page-turner with a steady pulse, Blinded By the Darkness will be treasured by mystery readers of all ages.
Gloria Feit
Blinded By Darkness is a quick, eminently readable novel, with all mysteries resolved and an ending that put a smile on my face.
John M. Floyd
In this cleverly-plotted and delightful novel, Tony Burton has perfectly described life in rural America. Pastor Wilson is as real and believable a character as I've read about in a long time, as are the conflicts he faces in trying to save his church and his congregation. If you've not read Tony Burton's fiction before, you're in for a treat--this is a well-written, fast-paced, and thoroughly satisfying mystery.
Lucille Robinson
One of the best mysteries I've had the opportunity to read. If you're one of those readers who have grown tired of violence and profane language at every turn of the phrase, you will enjoy it.
