Matt Seattle Never Saw The Trouble Coming. Never Expected It From So Many Different Directions. Blindsided - A Thriller by Jay Giles.

Matt Seattle, a Sarasota stockbroker, befriends an older stock enthusiast, Joe Jesso. During one of their weekly Wednesday morning sessions, Joe announces he's gotten married. A week later, Joe dies.

Believing Joe may have been the victim of a black widow, Matt hires an investigator to look into Joe's death. The investigator finds old Joe wasn't so innocent; he embezzled money from a drug cartel. Suddenly, Matt finds himself battling Joe's widow and her shyster lawyer who want his money, The National Association of Security Dealers who wants his broker's license, and, oh yes, the cartel who wants his life.

It's enough to turn any bull into a bear.

Jay Giles should/will be a mainstream writer. This story moves

Jay Giles should/will be a mainstream writer. This story moves and captivates. As good a mystery as I've read in a long time with believable characters and an intriguing setting. But the editing - not. Typos peppered throughout, spacing problems here and there, but most troublesome is the mis-use of quotation marks. What would easily be a fast read kept getting halted in trying to figure out who was talking or if it was even narration. When Giles becomes mainstream his publisher will pay for the editing and he'll be on top. Until then, I hope he believes in himself as much as I do and hires a good editor. But a great job and I recommend this book.

    A reviewer

I loved how the story is based in Florida..since I am a Floridian. Good visuals on certain landmarks. The plot was very good and I really enjoyed the characters.
