Overview

Note: Like the other books in the Bliss series, this book can be read as a stand alone. There are common characters in the books but it is not necessary to read the first two books in the series to read this one.

This is a story of Sean Miller, a dom that will have your panties diving for cover with an eyebrow quirk. That will have even the strongest woman dropping to their knees in submission with a piercing stare, and Samantha Richards, a female cop who’s tough, seemingly impenetrable shell is strong enough to resist everyone except the one man it was build up to protect her against.

**Disclaimer – If you thought the first two Bliss books were hot, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Creative use of handcuffs, batons, a club scene you have to read to believe, and a tough as nails dominant who is blindsided when the one woman strong enough to disarm him threatens his resolve not to let his past dictate his future.**

¿Everything I¿ve achieved, and everything I¿ve ever done is make

“Everything I’ve achieved, and everything I’ve ever done is make my parents proud. I've
wanted to lead a successful, happy and fulfilled life in their honor, and I like to think I've achieved that so far.”

Let me start by saying this past week I’ve been in
a bliss coma! I read all three of these lovely books back to back.
Blissful Surrender follows Sean Miller, (another one of Mac’s ‘friends’) and
Samantha Richards(Zan’s partner). These two wow! Just wow. Again this
book was written in dual POV which I really enjoyed.

Honestly in book 1 I kept forgetting about Sean and by book 2
I forgot he existed. But man, am I glad I got to know him. What
a fine specimen of a man. Sean likes control in EVERY aspect
of his life. He and Sam dated ten years ago and lost one another.
Of course their paths cross again and I am so grateful they did!

These two are such an amazing pair! Also I am the biggest
sucker for second chance stories. This book still has the characters
I came to love in the first two book of the series and some very colorful new ones.
You should just one click this entire series! You’ll love it. Blissful Surrender is the
3rd book in the Bliss series but can be read as a standalone. But if you read it as a
standalone you are really only punishing yourself!

Sean and Samantha's story is a great second-chance romance! *I

Sean and Samantha's story is a great second-chance romance!

*I was given a complimentary copy of Blissful Surrender for an honest review.

I’m a big fan of The Bliss series. BJ Harvey’s writing in this series is very funny, sexy, and emotional. I was pretty excited to get my hands on this particular book because Sean Miller’s character from Temporary Bliss. He was mysterious and his sexual tendencies had me very curious. BJ Harvey didn’t disappoint me with Blissful Surrender. She builds this wonderful story with complex characters that pull you in as soon as you begin to read.

Sean Miller is a pretty serious guy with a unorthodox personal life. Sean is a powerful lawyer by day, owner of a fetish club Throb by night. Even as his professional life thrives, his personal life is a mess. Sean’s brother Ryan is a gambling addict. And he can’t seem to get over his first true love Samantha “Sam” Richards. Sam Richards hasn’t laid eyes on Sean in ten years. After giving up the one person who meant the world to her, she is realizing her dream of being a Chicago police officer. But doesn’t have any meaningful relationships in her love life, except for a friends with benefits situation. What happens when these two former lovers unsuspectingly meet again? Hopefully high drama and hot sex!

Samantha Richard’s character has a hardened heart. After years of being a Chicago cop, she’s seen it all. She also has a mother who has help Sam build up this wall against any man who loves her. Personally, toxic mother/daughter relationships in books really resonate with me. Sam’s mother never gets over her husband’s abandonment and dooms her daughter with her hateful rhetoric. I felt so bad for Sam. How do you defy someone who gave you life, but clearly is not the right person to help build healthy relationships. Sean Miller’s character suffers from the same problem. After dealing with deep personal loss, he is left with his brother Ryan who is a mess. His addictions are now effecting Sean’s business, but he is having a hard time dealing with this situation. Sean won’t just abandon the only person he has left. When Sam and Sean finally come together, I’m so freaking happy! I want them to overcome all these toxic people and situations and I think BJ does a good job of a making this happen. I do wish she would have written in some type of conflict/resolution with her mother toward the end of the book. I really would have enjoyed Samantha telling her mom to shove it.

The sex in Blissful Surrender are pretty hot. Sam and Sean have great chemistry, no matter how much Sam tries to deny it. He knows all the right buttons to push with her and the reader ends up with some hot sex scenes! We also get some great flashbacks from Temporary Bliss from Sean and Makenna’s relationship.

Blissful Surrender is another great addition to the Bliss series. BJ delivers a great story with a deep back story, complex and complicated characters, and steamy romance. She also gives the reader a nice glimpse at the past characters from previous books. And as always BJ’s hilarious banter between the characters and laugh out loud one-liners are just one of the many reasons I love her books. I give Blissful Surrender 4 out of 5 stars!

~~ 5 "Addicted to Sean Miller" Stars ~~What can I say

~~ 5 "Addicted to Sean Miller" Stars ~~What can I say except that I absolutely LOVE this series.  BJ Harvey has created a cast of characters and story lines that I am totally addicted to.  As with the first 2 books in this series…this storyline and writing is flawless.  This was also a quick read like the others, I was able to finish it in less then a day, but I am guessing that is because I couldn't put it down.  I am always left with a HUGE smile on my face when I finish one of her books in this series.  She really knows how to write a story that you feel like you are a part of the book.  The fact that we met Sean in book 1 (Temporary Bliss) and now we got his story, you can't help falling deeper in love with this man.  This book will have you laughing at times, sad at times, blushing most of the time, and definitely falling in love!!!!  I can't tell you how wonderful this book was!!!  I truly don't think my reviews can do this series justice, you really need to read these books!!!!!

We met Sean in book 1, like I said before, and I was so excited to find out that he would be getting his own story.  (Although I have felt that way about all the characters we met in book 1)  I knew Sean's story was going to be an interesting one, because of his background and the fact that he is a Dominant looking for his sub.  What I didn't realize is that his story was going to be a second chance love story.  I am truly a sucker for those types of stories.  I love when lost loves are reunited after many years apart.  That is what this story is about.  Sean and Sam dated in college for over a year, but then somebody decided to but in and play on Sam's insecurities breaking them apart.  (It killed me to know who the person was)  Now 10 years later Sean and Sam are thrusted back into each others lives because of his troublesome brother.  Sam is a Chicago Police Officer.  We met he in the end of Book 2 ( True Bliss - Zander and Kate's Story )  Sean's brother gets himself into some deep trouble and the police are called and that is why Sam shows to help him out.  This is how Sam and Sean reunite.  From there we are now reading a cat and mouse story….there was a lot of push and pull on Sam's side, because she didn't want to admit that she still had feelings for Sean.  Well let me tell you he didn't give up…not once.  I really liked Sam's character.  I liked that she was strong willed and was willing to stand up to anyone who challenged her views.  This was a big change from her college years.  I also loved that she had a softer side, vulnerable per say.  Watching her and Sean reconnect and realize the love they had for each other was wonderful.  Sean was an amazing character as well.  Talk about a man who by nature is a Dominant, but boy did he have a sweet and caring side as well.  And talk about a panty melter….WOW ;)  You definitely want to meet him for yourself.

As for secondary characters…we are introduced to a couple new ones….Ryan (Sean's Brother), Helen (Sam's BFF) and Rico (Sam's Friend and Helen's Fiance)  I loved each one of them.  Helen and Rico were hilarious.  They kept me laughing quite a bit.  They were also a strong support system for Sam.  Since they were with her back when her heart was broken with Sean in College.  As for Ryan….I liked him as well.  I kind of hope he gets a spin-off book.  I think there is quite a story there.  I was glad to see that he was getting his sh*t together by the end of the book.  Now he just needs to find love himself.

This book is listed that it is a Standalone, and that is true, because we really didn't see anyone from the previous books, except for Zander and Kate briefly.  Ms. Harvey does a fantastic job filling any missing pieces someone might have if they haven't read the first 2 books.  Now my recommendation is that you read this SERIES in order.  Yes you can read this book by itself, but I honestly would read all the books (In Order)  You get the full effect and story behind all the characters if you read the complete series.  This book/series is definitely one I will recommend to my friends and one I will read again and again :)  Pick this book up….you won't be sorry!!!!!

**As a side note ::  For anyone who is debating about this book because of my review stating the Dominant/submissive theme…don't fret.  This is definitely on the lighter side of BDSM…if you even want to call it that.  There is light bondage and some spanking but that is as far as it goes. **
