This is her shot.

Brit has the chance to make history by being the first female goalie to play for an NHL team, the San Francisco Gold. So, when she is introduced to Stefan, the Gold's captain, she is determinedly not interested.

Stefan is sexy, charming, and has a publicly documented list of conquests a mile long. Brit is unwilling to risk mixing business with pleasure, even when that business is wrapped up in a six-foot-plus, gorgeously muscled package.

When management pushes Brit and Stefan together in an effort to gain good press for the beleaguered team, Brit finds that her carefully calculated disinterest doesn’t mask her body's desires. The more she falls for Stefan, the more she risks her career.

Will she be able to have it all—a starting position and the heart of the captain? Or will she lose everything?

Brit has finally made it, she’s worked her whole life at being the first female in the NHL and now she there playing for the San Francisco Gold. Enter in smoking hot Captain of the Gold Stefan. When Brit’s career is threatened, Brit must do what management asks and play nice for the cameras and fake an attraction and relationship with the charming captain but with one catch, he cannot know. Playing the role is a lot harder for Brit as she really is attracted to Stefan and is truly forming a bond with him. Stefan has had a rough go he’s been taking care of his sick mother, when Brit arrives on the team he can’t fight the growing attraction he has to her. When secrets are revealed will these two be able to make it work? Blocked is an amazing read that will have you hooked from the very beginning. Elise Faber’s magical writing sucks you in and leaves you breathless. Blocked is a must read for every hockey and romance fan!

Oh puck it all...This is my first sporty book I have ever read and what a way to start. Bravo Elise Faber for a riveting story that had me laughing out loud and crying for Stefan and his mother as well as Brit and her past experiences. There are even a few characters I wanted to strangle. This story was very entertaining and kept me intrigued. I had no knowledge about hockey, and I have come away with a small understanding of the game and the grueling work players must go through to be prepared. This was a great story of love, action, devotion, pain, and unintended betrayal. Do not pass this up great read!!

Ladies and Gents....I present to you a Hockey Romance done right! I truly enjoyed Blocked. It was romantic but not overly in your face. It was sweet but not so much as to turn you off. There was action on and off the ice. Elise Faber did a fantastic job of making Blocked the perfect meld. And again...HOCKEY Mmmmm...Zetterberg There's nothing better than sexy hockey players in the morning to get your day started! Want another? Yeah, you do... My absolute favorite thing about Blocked is that Stefan wasn't some asshat alpha male with mommy issues, and that Brit wasn't some god awful damsel in distress that let every male in the vicinity walk all over her, or fall on her back in an attempt to win Stefan over. Brit was everything that the first female NHL star needed to be. Her determination was contagious. Brit had be rooting for her the whole book. She carved out a nice little spot for herself on the team and did everything in her power to stay there. Stefan was a breath of fresh air. I've lost count on how many NA, YA, Romance (the list goes on) where the male lead is a total douchecanoe badass and you know as soon as you start, where the story is going. As soon as I read Stefan I immediately knew that Blocked was going to be like no other. I was right. Stefan is the captain of the team, and there is a reason. He's got the patience of a saint and an attitude to match. There was betrayal, and backstabbing but also hockey, love, hot guys, compassion, hot hockey guys. (All these hockey players have me all distracted!) I fell in love with both of them and I cannot wait to see where Elise takes the Gold from here. And because this is a hockey book, and hockey is my all time favorite thing to watch... Gawd, Hockey players are sexy!! Thank you Elise Faber...I'm off to stalk my future husband!!

I am not kidding when I say I enjoyed this book so thoroughly that I neglected to get enough sleep in order to read the first half, then didn't do much of anything the next day while I finished reading. OK, that's not entirely true because I did organize a bookshelf, but thanks to narration I was technically still reading at the same time. Blocked reminded me why I enjoyed watching hockey with my Dad so much when I was younger (yeah we were in Dallas so we had the Starz but they had a time when they were pretty good about 16-18years ago! lol) It's an intensely competitive sport and fights often break out. I've never really gotten a behind the scenes look until I read this book. Elise Faber has poured a lot of herself into this one, being a hockey player and fan too, and I greatly enjoyed the wealth of information that was provided to enhance the reader's experience. Plus, Brit is the kind of girl I want to be best friends with. Stefan was...*fans self*... a book boyfriend like no other, he had the typical male thoughts but a totally unusual, and most admirable, reaction and way of handling certain situations. There were some dark parts to the story that added depth without being triggering, though for some people they still might be uncomfortable, so be warned about the fact that you might experience some feels. I definitely did. Blocked not only made hockey sexy, it made me feel like I was in the thick of it all- action, romance, drama and life lessons included. Grab your copy and hold on tight! ***heat alert level 4-- get a cold towel fer ya neck*** So basically I can not decide I am so back and forth between 4 and 5 stars on this one, just grab yourself a copy and enjoy! ***arc provided for my honest opinion***

I received this copy for an exchange for an honest review. The book itself is good, the plot of the book though, it was typical, but still good enough to read. What I did like about this book is the his and her POVs, but then again I like reading books with different POVs. There are ups and downs in this book, some funny moments, some I just want to reach in the book and smack some sense into a few people. Would I recommend this book to anyone, if you love reading about hockey, then yes. I've never read anything hockey before, so I wasn't sure what to expect with reading this book. Would I read this book again, probably not, but it has nothing to do with the book itself, it's just my preferences are totally different. Yes, I would recommend this book to friends. :)

***I received an arc of Blocked for an honest review*** A magnificent masterpiece! Elise has definitely outdone herself with Blocked. This amazing story is about a woman working her way into a man's world. Ever since childhood, hockey has always been Brit's passion. Having been successful in the minor leagues and making it into the NHL has been a rough journey, but a journey well worth taking. From the very beginning, Brit has endured hazing, segregation, abuse and judgment. Now that she's in the NHL, she's experiencing an entire new set of issues. She's being bullied, blackmailed and coerced into something she doesn't want to do. Seeing no other option, Brit is forced to comply to the wrongful demands made to her or a slew of threats will be followed through. The worst threat made is her losing her opportunity she has worked so hard for, the opportunity to play in the NHL. What are the demands made to Brit? Who is threatening her and why? Does she comply? Well, I'm no spoiler, so you will have to read for yourself!

I received in exchange for an honest review A strong female and an alpha male struggle with obstacles life throws at them. They grow stronger in not only their personal lives but their professional. Brit Plantain is the first woman to play with a professional NHL team. The recent scandal has management forcing Brit into secret deal Stefan Barie is the captain of the Gold hockey team. The game and his mom are his sole priority. His attraction to Brit is not what he planned but the more time he spends around her the more he likes her. After an emergency has Stefan traveling home Brit runs to his side. No longer wanting to be a part of management's secret contract Brit calls it off but things go sideways when the truth is revealed. With all things coming out into the open Brit and Stefan work to heal what was broken.

Elise Faber is at it again!! After reading and falling in love with the characters in her Phoenix series it was an easy decision to pick up Blocked. Being a hockey player myself I just had to get my hands on a copy. The interwoven crossover between Brit and Stefan was brilliant! To get to know two different characters so deeply, to hear their inner thoughts as their stories progressed. I found myself entranced by the molten hot chemistry as the two felt something they'd never experienced before. As I was reading, I became immersed in their lives. I could picture each scene, see the facial expressions of each character. I would be interrupted by real life and it would take me a good 30 seconds to come out of the book. The hockey puns were glorious and the character development was seamless. I eagerly await the next installment of Blocked, just as I do for the Phoenix series. Thank you Elise, you truly are a magnificent writer. I hope many more readers get to fall in love with your characters as I have done.

Looking for a hot and steamy hockey story. Looking for a tough female character, you get no tougher than British. The first female NHL major league goalie. She has her issues but she fights for what is hers and works her butt off for the chance. Stefan, the captain of the Gold, doesn't know what to make of his feelings for the new goalie. I just loved the banter that Britain has going with Blane and her brother Dan. Brit can let loose with the rest of them. I am not sure who I disliked more, Susan or Mike. I just wanted to throat punch Susan. What she has Brit do and how she goes about getting her to do it was just plain dirty. And Mike, well, let's just say, he redeems himself. The entire story sucks you in. Even if you didn't know a thing about hockey, you will after this book. You are not stuffed with hockey lingo or anything like that, but you will know more about the game. It goes right along with the story. ****received an ARC for my honest review****

Great book!!! I love Elise's characters and I love hockey so I really like this book! I couldn't put it down. Love the romance between Brit & Stefan and I love that Brit is a strong female as the lead. First female in the NHL and as a goalie?! I hope they read this and we get some women in there! I love that it felt like real life. All of it was believable and I just wanted to be Brit in the story! I can't wait for more books in the series with more of the characters I fell in love with!

4.5 stars I loved this book! It had hockey, romance, and the characters were some of my favorites! They say "write what you know" and Faber knows hockey, and apparently romance as well! Her passion for the sport really came through every page. I never played hockey, but I LOVE to watch it! I mean I am from Detroit, aka HOCKEYTOWN! Hockey is fast paced and the players are so in tune with one another, most days anyway lol, it's very exciting to watch! The brisk chill from the ice, and passionate fans only amp up the whole experience too. I couldn't even imagine how much more so it must be for the players! And I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a few players that I like to pay extra close attention to *cough Henrik Zetterberg cough* So needless to say a hockey romance sounded A-Okay with me! The best part is it was so well done. A nice slow burn. I really appreciated that Brit and Stefan developed a friendship, and maybe more importantly, a close bond as teammates before things got romantic. That paired with their off the chart chemistry made this a very swoon-worthy read! Okay, so besides the romance, I thought the characters were individually awesome too! Let the Brit gushing commence!! She was such an inspiration! I love a story with a strong woman as a main character. I thought Brit being the first woman to play in the NHL was such a cool story! The way she handled the guys on and off the ice was just perfection. I had had this picture of her in my mind as this ninja-like bada**!! I think stories, and characters like this are so important, and quite frankly I wish that there was more of them! Faber really handled this aspect of the story amazingly as well. From the first awkward locker room incident, to the way the media and lots of people viewed Brit, to the way the team and the coach reacted, and ultimately embraced having a woman be a part of the team. Everything felt so real. I had no problem envisioning these situations being things that a woman would have to deal with under these circumstances. Brit carried herself very well, but also was a perfect person either. She made mistakes, and better yet, she OWNED them when the time came. I was completely in awe of Brit and couldn't help but to root for her. Stefan was a great leading man, as well. At the very beginning I honestly thought that he was going to end up being the typical Alpha male, play-boy, but luckily that's not the way things were. I was so incredibly happy that Stefan ended up being such a good guy. The relationship he had with his mother was enough to warm any heart, and the way he was with his team was truly inspiring. Honestly even the side characters were well fleshed out and interesting, which makes total sense considering there will be more books in this series about them. I am dying to see who the stars of the next book will be. And hopefully see some sweet glimpses of where Stefan and Brit are as well. All in all Blocked was an awesome story! I am now a Gold Hockey fan through and through (right after my first love, the Red Wings, of course) and I can't wait to back in the locker room with these hunks!
