I grew up reading the likes of Dean Kontz, Stephen King, V.C. Andrews, John Grisham and many others. I am here to tell you, this author has potential. The story was great with many twists and turns. Just about the time I thought I figured something out, another twist would be added. I found myself reading well into the night just to see what was going to happen next. The author is able to intertwine the lives of the characters in such a way that you felt like you knew them. This is not one of those books that you will start reading and know what is going to happen before the end. It is a page turner that will have you on the edge of your seat begging for more till the bitter end. You will get the opportunity to cry at the injustice of life and the actions of others and laugh out loud at how things have a way of working out. I won’t ruin the story for you but Chief of Police Reese Glockman has a lot on his plate. It is a wonderful story of one man trying to hold it all together while his life goes on around him.
I particularly like the fact that the author does not pound the detail out like some authors I have read. I have read books where they are explaining that the grass is green and soft. I know you have to paint that picture in our minds but do you have to take two pages to do it?? I find myself skipping over parts when the author is trying to fill the pages with babble. This author paints the picture and moves one. Great job and I can’t wait till the next one comes out. Watch for this author in the future. The name “James R Tate” will not go quietly into the night!!
