Meet the Author

Michael Franzese’s life is all about change. In 1986, Fortune magazine listed him as the eighteenth most powerful mobster in America. At the height of his power, he raked in millions a week through slick scams and used his wits and charm to keep the likes of John Gotti from moving in on his turf. The son of one of the most-feared mob enforcers in New York City, Michael took his own blood oath to join the Colombo crime family in 1975. But a criminal career that skyrocketed from its outset ended in 1989 when Michael quit the mob. Breaking his ties with the Mafia, he found himself part of a new blood covenant when he became a Christian. Now, Michael is a new man with a new mission in life. He travels around the world relating the experiences of his former life with students, pro athletes, business executives, at-risk youth, and anyone else who needs inspiration for life’s challenges.

    Disappointing

He may have been a supercharged mob boss, but if you like mob stories this is not the book. The book doesn't give any significant insight into the mob. I quit reading it after page 248 of 400. This is more of a love story than a book on the mob. After page 248 it looks like it just talks about Christianity. If you like love stories and Christianity this book might be for you. If you like Mob stories, I recommend you find another book. In the book he says he made hundreds of millions a month, had connections with Jon Gotti, Reverand Al Sharpton, Don King, Frank Sinatra, but he doesn't reveal anything about them that everyone already knows. I give it 2 stars, because I was disappointed.

    Fast-paced mob mega-work!

If you are into the "Sopranos" or anything that's related to the Mafia, this book is for you. It's a super-charged tale of a man who was a kingpin in one of the five New York City crime families. This slick schemer was raking in millions a week, and then he decided it was time to do something that defied common sense. Want to know what? Then buy this book! You won't want to put it down!

I highly recommend, all these goodfella guys have remarkable stories to tell.

I have not read this book yet. I do look forward to reading it. I watched an interview with him and his wife on a talk show not long ago. He is now a wonderful reformed man. I am familiar with his mob realated activities. I'm happy to know he turned his life around and now sharing with others how to be a positive figure in todays world.
