Her young man stepped out of nowhere onto a mountaintop...

Her high school counselor came from Hell. Literally...

Haley learns she has a unique gift. She normally lives her life escaping notice, but now two gorgeous strangers are interested in her. Very interested. Seth is the best-looking young man she (or anyone else) has ever met. Every girl in school is after him and the competition turns strangely vicious. She soon realizes that he is not fully bound to this world. Although they both feel the mutual attraction, there’s something holding him back... The second stranger is equally attractive, but more frightening. When she is with him, she somehow loses her self-control. To say more would give away too much, but Las Vegas will never be the same...

Blood of Gold is the first novel of the Seeker Series, stories of paranormal romance and suspense. The book is 90,000 words long, 380 pages in print form...

This book is the first in BV's YA Seeker series. It revolves around Hayley, a teenage girl living an ordinary life, that is until the new guy in school walks into class. Seth is not like other boys, to say the least. Drawn to him, Hayley seeks him out and finds that there is much more to him than meets the eye. He is shrouded by mystery and what she uncovers changes her life forever. Suddenly her loyal friends turn into enemies, her school counselor has it in for her, her new boyfriend is much more than a mere boy, and and the world around her is not the only thing changing. She soon realizes that she is not some ordinary teenager after all, and her biggest fear is no longer what she is going to wear to school, it's if she is going to survive the night. This is not your typical series. Sure it's a normal pnr romance where a teenage girl falls for a supernatural guy, but what it has that other series are lacking is mystery, suspense and action. Larson did a great job portraying Hayley, a teenager with ordinary problems and insecurities. She is young and naive at times, and yet is strong willed and determined. It made this PNR believable. I felt like that Hayley's character could have been me in my teenage years - sigh. Seth is another great character. The ageless boy who is not your average romance hero. He is dedicated, and well-versed, but seems to forget what romancing a girl is all about. The many dimensions of Seth make you want to read on to find out what he's going to do (or not do) next. The other characters are equally interesting. Brooke is the bff that is secretly (or not so secretly) jealous of you, Trevor is the guy who likes you (but you have zero interest in), and the school counselor is an evil turd, but in this case you can't get away from him so easily. This book is definitely worth a read. There are not many YA novels out there that is not all about fluff and actually give you some action and mystery that us adults can appreciate.

I found the character of the girl right on. I think sometimes that we don't like to remember how absolutely ridiculous we are as young people. A fast read and an adventurous one, I'm heading for the sequel with enthusiasm!

Um, at the Soomie girl, you say the book had 'dissapointing' errors but the thing is: it's spelled disappointing, not-so-smart one.

I bought this e-book because it was pretty high up on the list for a self-published e-book. I did enjoy it quite a bit! I thought the characters were fairly well developed and the story wasn't too terribly predictable. I know that makes it sound like it was just okay, but I enjoyed it enough to buy the second book in this series, which was just as fun, except that I was a little dissappointed with the length of the book. It wasn't very long, but still fun. Will be watching for the 3rd book in the series if there is one!

Haley complains too much about being short. Almost every conflict in the beginning has something to do about being short
