Overview

Make time to sit down with the Beast Master as soon as Blood Trails II arrives in your home, because you will want to sit back and go hunting with The Nuge himself!

Written by one of the country's best-known deer-hunting fanatics (rock 'n' roll legend, host of "Surviving Nugent" on VH1and "Spirit of the Wild" on The Outdoor Channel, and one of the nation's most strident hunting and firearms owners' advocate), Blood Trails II is packed with lore and lessons on hunting whitetails today.

With his own bowhunting experiences and philosophies, this completely updated and revised edition brings together strategies and tactics that are proven winners - in some cases, little-known techniques that just may work for you when nothing else will. Learn from Ted how to improve your arrow placement with his three-step archery prayer for shooting accuracy. Reflect on the blessings of the hunting season and how he believes, "self-sufficiency, after all, is the ultimate American Dream of independence and individualism ... no doubt about it, hunting is the last and best way to remain in touch with a planet that miraculously sustains us all."

Get charged with his love of bringing archery to new shooters as he declares, "Every man, woman, boy, or girl, falls in love with the Zen-like charge of making that next arrow better." Any hunter, rock 'n' roller, or just a Ted Nugent fan will want to add this book to his or her library. You will love and live along with Ted through his "absolute reverence for the precious beasts and their gift of protein." This hardcover book has 256 pages including an 8-page color insert, over 80 new black and white photographs.

    Traditions: Spread Em'

When I picked up Blood Tails II: The Truth About Bowhunting, I knew it was going to be an exciting read, but I just didn't know how exciting it was going to be. As a deeply passionate bowhunter like I am, I've known Ted Nugent (Uncle Ted) as the forerunner of the sport, and by sport I mean it in a traditional sense; he is the Babe Ruth of bowhunting. Within these pages, he transfers all his various hunting adventures and personal knowledge onto paper and exemplifies the true meaning of bowhunting and the nature behind the common outdoorsman. Besides this, he stands up for hunting rights, degrades the rights of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), and why they are so pathetic and irrational about their responsibilities as people. Along with the stupidity of Anti-hunting activists, he articulates that nothing is more beautiful than Mother Nature, and that no "concrete jungle" can replenish that. His words make every outdoorsman tremble in excitement, because every statement, story and prophecy hits the heart. For this precise reasoning, I really did enjoy this book because his hunting experiences were so entertaining and memorable that you could look back and say, "Hey Uncle Ted did that!" He incorporates so much imagery into his stories that when you read it, you get that deep feeling in your gut that your in the woods, your there watching Uncle Ted do what he does, and you enjoy every second of it. Another aspect of his work that I found enlightening is that he is extremely blunt about everything he says, and you can tell that he is very avid in all his thoughts. Listening to Uncle Ted speak, you find out quickly that he is the teacher and you are the student. He wants to inform everyone whom reads his work that he stands for his beliefs and he will not back down. I don't really have anything bad to say about this work, because I feel that everything he states, I can relate to in some way. I can see why his work offends some people, but like he says, everyone is too sensitive and is afraid to offend others, and I agree with him. To read or not to read is the question here, and I can answer that by saying that this is a bowhunting/outdoors piece of literature that incorporates some of the most bluntly said statements ever. Please, if your one of those guys or gals that hates hunting, quivers listening to a redneck voice his thoughts or is lives to stand up for the world, do not buy this for yourself, however, if your an insensitive human being that enjoys the outdoors, killing, standing up for tradition, and being apart of the redneck community, this is your heaven.
