Forensic pathologist Dr. Anya Crichton is incensed over the brutal crime, and she will do everything in her power to see that the three men responsible are punished severely. But the suspects, the Harbourn brothers, are part of a fanatically devoted family of criminals who are expert at sidestepping the law. And suddenly, people connected with the investigation and prosecution are turning up dead.

In the face of an impending legal travesty Anya cannot let fear distract her. But it may be harder to remain calm in light of the nightmare the Harbourns' attorney unearths beneath the floorboards of his own house . . .

By Far My Favorite Kathryn Fox Book Yet!

So much action, twists, and turns. I could not put it down. Looking forward to the next one in the series. Dr. Anya Crichton and Dan Brow are my favirite two characters. At some point I would love to see them together with all the soarks they share. Very impressed with this author, that I found by shear accident. Always a great storyline.

The Australian Kathy Reichs. How cool is that.

I have read all four of Kathryn Fox's books and this new one is her best. A young author, Ms. Fox has a character like Temperance from Kathy Reichs. She has a broken marriage and a young son, Ben. Out in the
field she is a compassinate doctor who, in this book, cares for patients who have been raped and savagely attached. I think she is getting better as a writer in each book and would recommend her to any mystery reader.

    I Also Recommend:

    Superb thriller- devilishly refreshing,

This is Kathryn Fox's fourth novel. Bloodborn propels along at a fantastic speed, with barely time for a `coffee break'. Right from the start, the reader is plunged into the world of Dr Anya Crichton, forensic pathologist, with its gruesome and shocking crime scene.
Fox's plot is tightly written, without padding and reference to previous works in the series, which makes for a wonderful independent read. Where other mystery/thriller authors rehash previous material, this book is, for lack of a better term -devilishly refreshing.
Sublime morality, qwirky twists along the way and personable characters is what I love about her books.
This is a superb thriller, and I eagerly await her next.

    I Also Recommend:

    Chillingly Accurate

Kathryn Fox delivers another great 'reality' fiction novel.
For me what makes all Fox novels so captivating is the chilling reality that victims, like the characters in her books, come to life based on her knowledge and experiences first hand as a general practitioner.
