Bloodlust (Vampire Beach Series #1) [NOOK Book]

I like vampire stories. If you've read any of my other reviews, you might already know that. Because of my prejudice, I dove into the first in the series of VAMPIRE BEACH books with high expectations. And I did enjoy it. Yes, it has some problems in execution, but more about that later. First the good stuff. As BLOODLUST begins, high school senior, Jason Freeman, has just moved into an exclusive Malibu subdivision with his sister and their nouveau rich parents. He experiences the typical teenage angst: the girl he likes is taken, he can't have a good time at parties because he's always watching out for his younger sister, one of his new friends isn't exactly riding the top rung of the social ladder, etc. The usual stuff. But something seems a little odd in Malibu. Then a girl turns up dead, and Jason discovers that the popular crowd at his high school is made up of vampires. This book put a fun spin on both the traditional vampire story and the 'high school popular crowd' story. I stayed up late, turning pages to see what would happen. That's a good sign. When I was done with BLOODLUST, I was grateful that there was another VAMPIRE BEACH book on hand and I tore right into it. Unfortunately, BLOODLUST did have some problems that detracted from my enjoyment. First, it was too short. There was clearly a lot of stuff going on in Jason's high school, but relatively little of it was explored. When he discovered the vampires and began learning about them, I ended up with more questions than answers. And by the time the real mystery began, the author seemed in a hurry to resolve it. Seemingly, no sooner did Jason realize there was a problem than it was solved. That was a letdown. I wanted more investigation, more conflict, more story. Another thing that bothered me was the use of slang. The author was eager to portray authentic-sounding teen dialogue, but it seemed forced and, at times, outdated. That is often the problem with trying to write the way modern teens speak. By the time the book is published, the dialogue already sounds like it was written about two centuries ago. And be warned that this one is for older readers. It contains frequent references to alcohol use and some sexual activity. I found VAMPIRE BEACH: BLOODLUST to be an enjoyable, light read. No deep human truths will be revealed, but there is plenty of good, old-fashioned, escapist fantasy. This slender volume is the perfect companion for your next plane trip. vampire beach bloodlust by alex duval

blood lust is all about the main characters jason freeman. jason has just moved in from michigan to malibu. he goes to a new high school 'devere heights'. everybody is very nice but naturally beautiful, but one girl especially catches his attention. SIENNA DEVEREUX. unfortunately sienna was one of his friend's girlfriend and his name was brad. in one party unfortunately a girl is murdered with a strange mark on her neck. jason immediately suspects that it was brad but he was wrong when adam his new best friend told them the biggest secret of all. . . . brad was a vampire. . . . jason immediately goes to sienna's house because he wanted to protect sienna. jason was terrified when he discovered that sienna was a vampire just like brad. she explained that most vampire families were originally french and that she drank human blood and she was also sure that brad would never drink human blood too much to actually kill someone. but jason isnt too sure. . . one night he follows as he now suspects scott challon. when he was walking in the bathroom scott ran out. he was suspicious since it was 2 weird for scott to be in there because he saw scott drinking outside. so he follows scott and is amazed to find that it was luke archer and he was overtaken by bloodlust. luckily zach came and saved jason in the end.

Read this book!!!

I finished reading the twilight series and I needed something to read. I went to the barnes and noble store and I found this book and thought it sounded kind of like twilight. I was very happy with this book. It was very gripping and it pulls you in from the first page. I got this book and I finished it in a couple of hours thankfully I got the edition that has the first and the second book in it so I had something to read when I was done. I would suggest this book to anyone who is interested in vampires.

Bloodlust is wiked! *SPOLIERS*

I really enjoyed bloodlust, I have read many books involing vampires but this is in the top 3. The storyline is easy to understand but intersting and full of suprises! The fact its written about a guy falling in love with a girl vampire, is different to most vampire books. Also the fact its written in nartive format is different. The story is about a guy called Jason who moves to Malibu and meets Serina who turns out to be a vampire and who also has a boyfirend-Brad also a vamp-. Jason falls in love with serina this causes many problems with his consionce and his safety. When another vampire sucums to bloodlust-uncontrolled feeding resulting in the human dieing-Jason is determed to find out who did it with his best friend Adam. Jason finds the killer and trys to take him on and fails after all vamps are strong. The day is saved by Zach the schools vampire leader. I cant wait to see what happens in the next book i want to know i he and sernia get it on together! Its a great read, so good i read it in 3 hours! could put it down! bloodlust is wicked!!!!!!

Great Series....

This series is wonderful... easy reading and very enjoyable. Jason ans Sienna make you keep wanting more....

No questions asked- vampire beach is one of the best seires i've ever read. trust me- i got hooked on it and read all 4 books in 3 days- i couldn't stop! You will not be sorry!

this book is AWESOMEE!!! the plot just grabs u and takes u in. at first i thought that it would just be another one of those stories without any action but DAMMM was i wrong!!! u have to continue. ur just addicted to it!!!!

This book/series is awsome. I thought it was very fast pase and it was a book i couldnt put down. I honestly bought the first 2 books in one book but didnt realize it but im so glad i did and i cant wait to read then 3rd book! this series is awsome!!!!

This book was really good. On the back it says As Seen in Cosmogirl but that didnt stop me from reading it. Its basically about a boy that switches from the cold, snowy Michigan weather to the hot, sunny Malibu beaches. Well written and a good drama/romance/mystery/suspense book. I would recommend it to anyone.

I love this book a lot. It was very well written and I couldn't put this book down. I can't wait to read the second part. I recommend this book to everyone.
