The first two books in this series was amazing!!! The store is fast past, action packed and has a little something for everyone to enjoy in the paranormal scene. I was however, gravely dissapointed to discover that she has no plans to continue these stories at this point. The book leaves you wanting more and expecting to be a third book and it is an immense let down to not be able to continue the story. It makes me wish i never started reading the books as i cant really FINISH the story.

A non-believer just two weeks ago, Jill Conrad was injected with an anti-vampire toxin by mistake. She became irresistible to the vampires, but also deadly to the Undead species. As a weapon to manipulate by the various bloodsucker factions, she killed the vampire king (see Nightshade). Jill wants to go back being her former self, but knows that is impossible. Instead she is the prey hunted by vampires. She seeks a serum to make her non poisonous and wants to save her protector tormented half-vampire Declan Reese from himself. Due to her blood Declan is bipolar as a killer one moment and in heat the next. Meanwhile a secret vampire cabal plans to abduct the king's baby daughter, which Jill vows not to allow if necessary over her dead body. The second Nightshade urban fantasy is an exciting thriller that sets the dark deadly tone from the opening scene in the aptly titled North Hollywood bar Ravenous where thirsty vampires gather and never slows down until the final chill. Incredibly fast-paced with an intrepid heroine who keeps the story line moving forward and focused, sub-genre readers will believe after a trek into the perilous Rowen realm that Southern California contains nasty vampiric predators. Bloodlust By Michelle Rowen Copyright July 2011 Published Berkeley Sensation/Paranormal Romance For those who feast on blood, Jillian Conrad is a fatal attraction. After being injected with a poison that made her blood both irresistible and deadly to vampires, she was used as a pawn to assassinate the vampire king. Now the vampires want her eliminated. So is the infant daughter of the dead king. If Jillian doesn't stand in the way of her death, then everyone, living or dead, is in great peril. But an even greater danger is rising. The Amarantos, a secret society of vampires, is seeking the infant daughter of the slain king to complete the vampire's quest for true immortality. And if they succeed, no one, living or undead, will escape the darkness. Jillian is hanging out in a Vamp bar named "Ravenous" waiting for her friend Noah to show up with some information she needs. She's been in the bar for an hour and a half and is getting nervous about Noah's failure to appear. She sees a young woman being stupid and doing a come on to a vamp in the bar and decides to intervene to save the young woman's life. Jillian is not one to usually get involved in other's problems or actions, she just knows if she doesn't the girl will die. She past the Vamp and lets him catch her scent. She walks out of the bar knowing that he is going to follow her outside. When the vamp approaches her he tried to talk her into joining him and get to know each other. Knowing she only wanted to get him away from the girl in the bar, she says no and starts to walk away. Pissed off he grabs her by the throat and tosses her to a confederate that appeared behind her. Yeap, Jillian's in trouble again, and there's no one around to help at this point. Her friend Noah is still a no show and she's going to have to deal with two vamps on her own. Bloodlust is the second book in this new series by Michelle Rowen about a young woman who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is thrust into a world that she never believed existed and made a major player against her will. I read through Nightshade (book 1) in one evening and kept my eyes open for the arrival of this book to continue the story. I recommend it highly to anyone who loves Vamp stories with a heroine who grows into her role quickly and energetically. FTC Full Disclosure: I received this book as a gift from the author who asked nothing in return other then my enjoyment of the story.

I enjoyed this installment more than the first book, ‘Nightshade’ in this series. I am rather baffled after reading some reviews that some readers thought to read book 2 before book 1. That kind of doesn’t make sense to me as it’s a series to be read in order. I think you would miss some of the reasoning’s behind certain things Michelle Rowen has written into book 2. Having said that, I still think Michelle can dig a bit deeper with her writing. I am really getting into this series now and am looking forward to the next instalment. Michelle is quite dark with her writing and she threw some changes at the reader in ‘Bloodlust’. Just about everybody has something go whicky whacky with them and end result is something they have to deal with for better or for worse. Jillian is bleeding black tears, not a good sign, Declan’s sanity is questionable, Noah gets a makeover, Declan gets a makeover, the twins face off, there is blood and gore and lust and love. A good baby sitter is hard to find, brotherly love...not much, a loyal soldier is breakable and Matthias gets kudos for being very organised. Jillian spends a lot of time in pain, as she is slowly dying from being injected. The pain is shutting her body down, it is gradually getting too much for her body to come back from. I do like how brave Jillian is considering, she has been thrown into a life that has forced her to be separated from the only family she has left. She handles it all very well. Then she has these two guys, who are related, like we are talking uncle Matthias and nephew Declan , one is lusting or is it love and the other is wanting to love her but can he allow himself. Either way the relies have their eye on Jillian....and then to make it more interesting....... I do enjoy Matthias, he is a bit of a laugh and he is ever so naughty. I can’t help liking Matthias that much more at the moment. I love Declan, he is uber smexi , but I can’t put my finger on it at the moment. I think I need more convincing from Michelle.
