All Music Guide - Steve Huey
Bloodthirst is the seventh full-length album by Cannibal Corpse, and it's rather remarkable how little the band's sound has changed over the course of an entire decade. Sure, their musicianship has gotten a little more polished, and they've perfected their formula a bit more, but it's essentially been the same vibe on every album throughout their career. Bloodthirst is not that much different from the other Cannibal Corpse recording with George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher which in turn were not an incredible distance removed from the Chris Barnes era; there are the prerequisite detuned grinding guitars, hyperspeed blastbeat drumming, and vocals that sound like Fisher's larynx is ...

Bloodthirst is not that much different from the other Cannibal Corpse recording with George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher which in turn were not an incredible distance removed from the Chris Barnes era; there are the prerequisite detuned grinding guitars, hyperspeed blastbeat drumming, and vocals that sound like Fisher's larynx is being put through a garbage disposal, plus lyrics geared for maximum gore and shock value. The appeal of Bloodthirst, then, is likely to rest on your answer to the question "how much Cannibal Corpse do you really need"? If you enjoy the formula, haven't tired of it, and want to hear more material in the same vein, Bloodthirst is exactly what you're looking for. Otherwise, just get a couple of the Chris Barnes albums.

    I Also Recommend:

not my personal favorite, but Good

id heard some of the songs from this album off Cannibal Corpse's "Live Cannibalism" album and was curious how the studio sound would transfer. needless to say i feel that the production was a bit thin but the musicianship is Spot On. Cannibal Corpse is easily one of my top favorite Death Metal bands and pretty much any release is Good.

    another splatter masterpiece!!

without repeating the other reviews about how great this album is(which it is) just listen to track #4 for one of the most bizarre guitar riffs ever recorded!! it's absolutely sick!!(in a good way)

A Blowtorching Brillant Work Of Art

Even though Cannibal Corpse is now working in a different studio, this is the finest work of art in Death Metal they have produced that I have ever seen since their last triumph of their album ''Gallery Of Suicide'' in 1998. The artwork in the album is dark, errie and masterful and there is no doubt that Vincent Locke is the undisputed artist of his kind with the large mental faculty that he has and with the gift he has in working with Cannibal Corpse every time an album cover is on demand. All of ''Bloodthirst'' is amazing and is full of energy.

    OH MY GOD!

When I first heard this CD I was speechless. I was just like, 'Oh my god!''. This CD is one of Cannibal Corpse's best. It's vicious from start to finish. If you know any other hard bands, e-mail me.
