Editorial Reviews

Alice Joyce
Bellamy is not in the business of giving advice on herbal healing, but rather assumes the role of guide through the botanical wonders of Britain's forests, woods, and grasslands. He points out the illustrious history with regard to the curative properties of a very broad group of plants categorized as herbs. American gardeners should recognize the specimens described in Bellamy's text and in Derek Hall's beautiful illustrations, as most all are familiar perennials in the ecosystem on this side of the Atlantic as well. This stimulating, environmentally sound handbook is recommended in spite of the unfortunate fact that we are not privy to broadcasts of the accompanying television programs Bellamy hosts on British TV.
