This book s truly a hidden gem. The story of davy reminds me very much of the days i was discovering my body and my feelings. It is a great read. keeps the book glued to your hands. please make sure to keep an open mind. i have never read a book on this topic (children's learning of the world around them and their sexuality)  and i am glad to finally have one written n such a way that i cant even explain the way i felt at times. i loved the book. the ending was amazing. I cant imagine the feeling one has when someone you care so deep for forgets your name. The Author made a touchy subject into a masterpiece.  Thank you professor for sharing your work with me.

My daughter brought this novel home with the admonition that her school had banned it from being taught (though if had originally been on the approved list). After finishing it last night, I was stunned that this gem of a novel is banned. I was an English major at UCSB before I got married and I've published some fiction in 'little magazines.' I know the good stuff from the bad, the real from the fake. this is good stuff, the real thing. If you don't read another novel this year, read this one.

Richard Ferri's masterful novel BLOSSOM RIVER DRIVE captures between the covers of these exquisite pages the impossible intimacy and wonder that can take place between a girl and boy, children, when they experiment with their bodies, their minds, their infinite imaginations. A masterpiece, long over-due!!!
