This is a non-coventional novel that takes place in the L.A. area and appropriately concerns people involved in the movie industry- a young starlet, a producer, a writer, etc. Sukenick tends to take his originality a little too seriously and is guilty of sacrificing quality for non-conformity at times. But the book is still a refreshing break from the cookie-cutter mulch today's major publishing houses are pumping out. There is plenty of humor and enough sexuality without ruining the plot. I am not, but if you are an aspiring author then this would be a good book to read just for ideas of where you can go with your writing style, methods, etc. Actually, it's a 3 1/2 star novel but I rounded off to 4.Was this review helpful?
