De la Cruz combines American history, vampires and a crew of rich New York City kids, delivering a page-turning debut to her new series, sure to appeal to fans of her Au Pairs titles. When 15-year-olds Schuyler and Bliss find out that they are vampires, as are many of the city's elite, they learn what's behind some of their weird symptoms (such as Schuyler's blue veins, which form "an intricate pattern, visible under the skin's surface," or Bliss's cravings for raw meat), and that "nothing could kill vampires." But something is hunting them, even killing some, and Schuyler grows more determined to stop it, even as the Conclave, the vampire leaders, attempts to cover it up. Readers will recognize the character types here: Schuyler the outcast, Bliss the pretty new girl and Mimi the popular queen bee (who nurses a somewhat incestuous relationship with her equally gorgeous brother). Not many question are answered along the way, even for the start of a series. A juicy, voyeuristic peek into the lives of rich Manhattanites-who happen to be vampires. As shown by a diary in a handwritten font, vampires came to this country on the Mayflower. In contemporary Manhattan, the ensemble of protagonists attends an elite prep school. They're old souls, because vampires return in new shells (bodies) indefinitely; however, until mid-adolescence, they don't know it. Fifteen-year-old Schuyler, intelligent and vaguely Goth, has no idea she's a vampire. Neither does Bliss, newly arrived from Texas. Mimi and Jack, glamorously haughty twins with a suspicious bond, already know the scoop; the adults know too. The others are meant to learn slowly and keep strictly to the Code (for example, never suck so much blood that a human dies).     Great book!

    This book, honestly, is one of the best i have ever read and i read A LOT. also, it is an incredible plot. The author does very well to make the story believable with twists and turns everywhere that keeps your attention yet teaches you things too. If you have read twilight, and are timid about any other vampire books, you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about. This is a completely unique book and i guarantee you will love it. I enjoyed this book immensely and recommend it to anyone over the age of 13. Really, you have to buy and read this or i'm sure you WILL regret it.

    Must read book

    This was an excellent book. The characters and their struggles are believeable. This book is not another book about vampire love, it has the you guessing who is behind the killings. The whole series is a must read. Blue blood series is one that I don't get tired of reading and I read a LOT of books.

    The Mst Amazing Series I've read!

    The Blue Bloods Series struck me at the age of 15-16, and was then part of my life. After reading the first book I was hooked and extremly addicted to the story because it was something i wanted to live; almost like the world was made for me. I was so excited to read the rest of the books,I waited anxiously for each one to be published. This series is the best I've read i can't wait to read the rest Melissa's amazing books!

    LOVE THIS SERIES

    Book one was good, but I wouldn't have died if I didn't contine reading the story... Book 2 on the other hand had hooked and now I am in LOVE with the series. The books, are a definitely different take on Vampires, Angels and the whole paranormal genre.. It is AWESOME.

    Another Addictive Vamp Series

    This series is a total blast!
    When I first started to read 'Blue Bloods' I was very, very skeptical. I mean vampire books are hot-hot-hot, but some vampire series are so not-not-not. I was surprised and very overjoyed that my selection of the 'Blue Bloods: One-Three Box Set' was definitely a good choice.
    The series is written in third-person, and the author tends to run-on and on with her sentences, but they are very interesting and detailed none-the-less. The characters are interesting. They are not as interesting as the characters from the 'House of Night' series or 'Vampire Academy,' but they're still pretty appealing. I think my favorite character is Mimi. You gotta love a good witch with a capital B.
    As for the feel and tone of the book ... it's a combination of 'Gossip Girl and 'House of Night.' It also reads very much like a young Jackie Collins/Jacquelie Susann novel; it's full of glamourous and very detailed descriptions clothes, people, and places.
    Anway ... it's a fun read, and a must for vampire fans, young and old. I probably give it three-and-a-half stars if I could. Nice series!

    AMAZING series

    When I first picked up the book, I thought the description and cover were a bit cheesy. I gave it a shot anyway and I couldn't put the book down!Hands down one of the best, if not THE best, book series I have ever read. The plot and characters are very interesting, not your typical vampire books. I also like the fact that these vampires are fallen angels and therefore have much more of a story to tell.

    Not great, but not bad.

    Although the book had its moments and I did continue reading the series beyond these three books, the series didn't really seem to start with anything until the furth book. If I would have checked these out of the library, as did the rest of the series, they wouldn't have been ones that I had bought. However, some good did come out of it, since I have now donated the books to the library.

    LOVED LOVED LOVED EM

    If you are big vampire reader this series is awesome. I absolutely loved these books. After buying this box set you will definitely be back to purchase the fourth book and like me you will be dying for the fifth book to come out.     Don't toss me til you read me!

    I am 22 years old. I work full-time and am married, but these books are awesome. I love a little mystery with some action, maybe even a touch of romance. These books have it all. It's based around the new age high school scene, but the characters are century old vampires. Melissa De La Cruz is such a wonderful creative writer. I absolutely loved getting lost in these captivating tales of hers.

    Good Book!!!

    i was at my school library bored, when the first book (blue bloods) caught my eye. i am a fan of the twilight and anne rice books so i thought it would be interesting to read. at first i could not get into it, i had to read the first chapter like 2 times just to understand what was going on but by the end of the book it really impresed me. i have read all 4 books thus far and they all leave you wanting more. i would absolutly recommend these books!

    Better then I thought...

    I bought this entire series after some serious debating with myself if i should invest in these books...well, i'm glad i did.
    While the characters seem a bit under developed, the books, especially the last book of the series that is not in this packet, keep you on the edge, wanting for more. I particularly like that the writer incorporates real world history into these books which I think is what sets this series apart from the rest of the vampire dramas.
    I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.

    From my opinion, these books keeps me on the edge every single time I reach the end of a chapter. The story line is also very capturing and interesting. Love it. The book I also recommend is the fourth book to the series. Unfortunately, it is not part of the whole pack, however, it is also really cool. You should get it too.

    I love this whole Vampire Addiction that's going on and I'm a huge fan of Gossip Girl. In a strange way i feel like this book has everything I want from both series into one. I love them..My favorite books ever
