Awesome book

Blue Flame by Jill Shalvis makes the worlds of firefighting and ranch life come alive. ____ Jake Rawlins needs to hide from the press after his recent firefighting rescue. He decides to spend some time at the ranch Blue Flame that his late father left to him. But the ranch isn¿t the quite place he thought it would be since he can¿t get thoughts of his ranch manager Callie out of his mind._____ Callie Hayes has made a place for herself at Blue Flame. With the owner seldom showing up she had free reign. Now Jake has come back to stay for a few months, upsetting her routine and peace of mind. Jake and Callie shared one night of passion a few years ago that Callie thought was behind them. But with seeing each other daily the sparks start to fly. _____ Blue Flame is a fast paced story that keeps you in its gripe till the last page. The chemistry sizzles and the dialogue will keep you laughing. This story will touch your heart and stay with you long after its over.

A Five Flame Review from Sizzling Romances!

Hi. I wrote a long review, but I guess it was too long for this site, lol! I have so much to say about this wonderful book - but I'll just include these paragraphs: Callie and Jake have a connection so acute, that it nearly burns through the pages. So, while Callie's trying to fight her feelings for Jake, he is realizing that he'll never go back to firefighting. The pain in his heart breaks Callie's heart, and the reader will feel the pain as well. This is one of the elements that really makes BLUE FLAME work - Callie's compassion. Despite this sadness, it is very exciting to watch Jake take on new things daily, even though he is still in a lot of pain. There are also enigmatic employees, some with deep-rooted problems, but with Callie's special touch, she's made them all a family. Yet the mystery remains - who's sabotaging the BLUE FLAME? BLUE FLAME is an adventurous book in a very different way, but an adventure nonetheless. Part of the adventure is the various groups that are paying guests at the BLUE FLAME and the activities planned for them, while Jake struggles to fit in. The other part of this being an adventure, is trying to discover who is trying to hurt the ranch, including Callie. Ms. Shalvis has written her characters remarkably well and watching them evolve draws the reader right into the story. The reader feels the pain, the joys, and the sadness of all the characters - not just Jake and Callie, but also the other members of the staff, and the troubles they are facing. This character-driven book still has a very strong plot and is an engaging read from beginning to end. I am very eager for the next book in this exciting series, as I'm positive Ms. Shalvis will continue to create compelling characters in a story that deeply hits the heart of the reader. This was a really good book about Jake leaving town to escape the publicity of a rescue that didn't go as planned. Jake goes to the Blue Fame ranch and sees Callie who is running the ranch for him. The sparks ignite between these two, but strange things start happening after Jake shows up. Jake also has to try to mend fences with his half-brother. This is another great Jill Shalvis book and I can't wait to read more in this series.

    Chapter Eight: Tana's Story

[I FINALLY made a RP Username. Cheers to Starry Night and Professor What! It's....AIREAL!]

I breathed hard, the blade firmly grasped in my hands. The fairy woman looked at me, her eyes glowing with hate. "Poor child." Her voice was pitched equally with hatred, and I swear I could see steam rising off her clothes. Flicking out her hands and twisting them in some sort of twisted triangle, she pointed her hands at me. "Die!" A blue beam shot at me, searing with heat I could feel even from eight meters(24 feet) away.

I dove to the left, and the beam blasted into into the house behind me. Dropping into a roll, I shot a quick glance behind me. "No!" I sobbed. Any chance of my parents being alive was gone. A sharp pain faced through my right leg. I looked down, and in the fading light, saw a dark red stain spreading through my dress. Not that it made much of a difference. I guess when I'd rolled, my knife had stabbed my own leg. Pulling the blade out, I tried standing. More pain, fiery and burning. I had to get up. If I didn't it was the end of Tana Vivienne B. Pressing a hand to my thigh, I faced Queen Faedra.

"Give...Her....Back!" I yelled hoarsely. Titania, who was still hovering above the splintered remains of the picnic table, had begun to decrease in height. If I didn't move here, she might cut herself on the wooden shards. Stumbling toward the queen, I winced from the raw heat from the flames that consumed the house. All of a sudden, Faedra lunged. Quick as a viper, she thrust out her hands to shove me back. Ducking quickly, I spun with one leg outstretched, kicking her off her feet.

Now on the ground, I took the opportunity to stab the knife into her back, without hesitation. "Die!" I screamed, my throat already scratchy from overuse. Blood bloomed on the queen's blue robes, contrasting the colors even in the pale light from the rising moon. A thin stream of blood ran down Faedra's chin as she coughed up sticky blood that splattered onto the grass. "Fool." She rasped, twisting her mouth into a gruesome smile. "Even if you kill me, it's too late."

"What do you...?" I turned to look at Titania. Faedra was right! As if she was in a glitter machine, my sister began dissolving. Slowly, but surely the glitter scattered in the wind, carried by a light, gentle breeze. I looked down at the queen. She herself was also glitterizing, dissipating in the breeze. I sat there, silent and still. I could hear police sirens, but they sounded distant, and muffled. The heat from the burning house was also there, but it too, seemed non existent.

My family was gone. I had no one left.

That thought registered in my mind as I tilted my head up to the glowing, pale white full moon.

    And I screamed.

    (TO BE CONTINUED.....)

I'll be writing my second sequel to Tana's childhood, for her ages 9-11 at 'sparks' result one. Just wait.

    Blue Flare's Song

Look, Nymphali, at all of the things you've done
The bonds you've made... have stayed strong all along
You remind me so much of my own past, and soon,
Also my current life too.
For it is time for you, my dear,
Accomplished enough to be standing right here,
To go beyond to your new life, and become, what was inside all along...

To the tune of Pallet Town's theme. I imagined the HGSS version if there's any difference. I have no idea why I made up a song parallel to Celestia's Ballad for Flare to sing before Nymphali's ascension, but I did. And it sounds cool in a sort of-Celestia voice in my head. Anyways.
