"The Blue Giraffe" is a collection about attachment and loss, connection and discovery, reaching across species to include the four-legged, the winged and the rooted. The poems, written over four decades, invite the reader to enter worlds both strange and familiar, and to tarry in small snapshot moments and unexpected places. And above all, to look for the next frost and thaw, the next dream and gleaning, the next moment of ohana-- not around the corner, but here and now in the real time of grief, celebration and longing.

Katherine Clark January lives in Bountiful, Utah with her husband and her chocolate dog, Charley.When notwriting and gardening, sheworks as a psychologist in a healthcare setting. She has begun a second volume of poetry, and has recently (inished a children's story. "The Blue Giraffe" is her (irst collection.
