    Doing grief the right way

    Introspection and personal grief don't always combine to make a good album and even the best of music writers have come up short in making a listenable representation of that sorrow. But Joni Mitchell tackles those issues so perfectly in this album that she transports us to our own sorrows even as she exposes the pain in her own soul. This is truly a remarkable achievement. This album must be considered one of the greatest works of music from the twentieth century.

    A True Masterpiece

    Let this CD amaze you from the first hopeful line of "All I Want" to the last beautifully tragic chord in "The Last Time I Saw Richard". This CD is a classic through and through. Every song is as powerful as the last. Each drip with beauty, fragility, happiness, and personal reflections. Each tell a story from start to finish. I hope Blue captivates you the way it does me. Hands down, one of the best acomplishments by an artist in our time.

    BLUE

    JONI MITCHELL'S BLUE IS MY FAVORITE ALBUM. THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS ALBUM I WAS AMAZED LIKE SOME OF TODAYS ARTIST LIKE MADONNA,TORI AMOS,PRINCE ,ANNIE LENNOX AND OTHERS WHO CLAIM THIS ALBUMS INFLUENCED THEIR MUSIC.THE FIRST SONG " ALL I WANT TAKES ALONG WITH MY OLD MAN LITTLE GREEN CAREY AND BLUE. CALIFORNIA BEGINS A NEW ROAD. RIVER MAKES ME CRY. A CASE OF YOU AND LAST TIME I SAW RICHARD BRING STORIES OF HER LIFE IN CANADA. JONI HAS ADMITTED THIS IS HER FAVORITE ALBUM TOO. ALL I WANT TO SAY IS JONI MITCHELL YOU A WINNER HERE.

    Comforting Blue

    This album is probably her most personal, emotional one.It's unbelievable that it was made long before I was born, it sounds incredibly up-to-date, like a textual quintessence of Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Belle and Sebastian and Jonatha Brooke, with very sparse and beautiful, gloomy and sorrowful arrangments! If this is depression, you'd almost crave it...

    She's a poet

    Maybe I wasn't alive in the 60's or 70's, but I recently discovered Joni Mitchell. Blue is her best album that I've heard. The lyrics are wonderful, they really hit home. Amazing honesty. Listening to Joni is a very personal experience.

    influential to a young mind

    Taught me about love and desire. the music draws me close to listem to my own heart and asks '' what does it mean to be in love, in grief, in longing...''

    blue is blue skies

    this is joni's most personal album to date. her painful journey through this album is heartfelt, and emotional. 'blue' has been hailed as a masterpiece. and if you buy it and listen to it, you'll readily agree.
