    What's to Not Like?

There's something for everyone in this novel. It's got cooking tips, romance, sex, suspense, and a lot of laughs. I found it more than a little difficult to stop reading this, even when I got to the last page. It was one of those books I didn't want to end. All of the description put me right in the setting and the way Burher writes makes it sound like the way people actually talk. I especially liked the subplot about Mark and Ronnie and the surprises that kept popping up. I want more from Ed.

A Real Page-Turner with Something for Everyone!

I couldn't put this novel down! I read Ed's first novel LURAY because a friend recommended it so when I got the news that he'd written a sequel, I ordered right away. I was amazed how he could move between subplots and settings so easily, and like the first novel, the description (I loved the part about spring and the weddingnight) is clear and vividly accurate and the characters are all real, even the nutty ones. I can and will read anything else by this author and can assure anyone reading this that you won't be disappointed...and it's NOT pure romance, either. It has humor, cooking, and suspense, too.

    Couldn't Put It Down!

A former student of the author recommended this to me, so I had my husband get it for me for Christmas. Couldn't put it down. Between the laughs and the food and the really good character development that made me think I knew the main players, I couldn't believe that there was so much in a novel that wasn't all that long. Often, I wanted to find myself inside the novel. I found it amazing that Ed Buhrer could make everything so real and so diverse. Unlike some books that just plod along, this one kept me turning page after page until, alas, it was finished. I've already ordered his first novel. A great read.

    Blue Ridge High

This is a fun book! It has humor, suspense, romance, food, and fantastic details. At times I found myself laughing but other times I was wishing I was inside the book. The characters are real: they talk like real people, they act like real people, and they make you care about them. Even the dialogue is incredibly real! It's a great read and I couldn' put the darn thing down. Ask my wife!

    Blue Ridge High

The style of writing in this reminds me a lot of Nicholas Sparks' style, and this author's feel for his characters and their affections for one another are really real. The humor was an added treat and I was ambushed by at least two of the subplots. I could read this again and I will.

The characters in this book are so darn real.

After reading this book, I felt as if the characters were some of my best friends. Ed Buhrer captures the everyday conversation that takes place in today's contemporary high schools. In the mundane everyday functionings that takes place in them, Ed weaves in a mystery that captures one's attention and makes this book a fun read.

    SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

I guess I have to go read this author's first novel now. Friends told me about this book. I wasn't disappointed. It has something for everyone, that's for sure: great detail in the description, deep character developement, good food (first time reading made me hungry!), and good subplots. I found myself howling at some of the school stories, but then holding my breath over the serious stuff. The conversations between Tom and Sandi have great depth and meaning and I loved the way the author makes his points (especially about teaching) through the characters instead of beating the reader over the head with the obvious. Just reading this, and knowing from the back cover that Ed Buhrer is a teacher, I can tell that some of the school episodes (both funny and poignant) weren't all that 'fictional'! I'm amazed that Ed Buhrer could have so much diversity in such a quick read. I will definitely pick this up and read it again!
