I live only 30 minutes from, and love the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm a nostalgia/history buff, so this book seemed a great fit for me. It shows the reader a pre computerized-speed obessesed America, enjoying the journey more than just getting there. Some of the pictures of the hotels and motels, off the Parkway, were just like some of the ones I stayed at with my family when I was young. They brought back a lot of great memories.
Only one discrepancy was found in the decription of the Allen clan tragedy. The writer wrote that Sidna Allen was executed along with Claude Allen for the Carroll County Courthouse shooting tragedy. It was Floyd Allen and Claude Allen (son). I'm sure this is just a misprint.
