Diana DeGarmo finished second on the 2004 American Idol largely due to her plucky, irrepressible spirit. She was the local girl next door who always has the desire to put on a show, and viewers responded as much to that attitude as they did to her voice. It also didn't hurt that at the age of 16, she was one of the youngest contestants on the show, and it's very likely that many members of her fan base identified with her -- when they watched Diana they could see themselves up there on-stage. Released six months after the close of the show's third season and only two weeks after 2004's winner, Fantasia Barrino, released her first album, DeGarmo's debut, Blue ...

Released six months after the close of the show's third season and only two weeks after 2004's winner, Fantasia Barrino, released her first album, DeGarmo's debut, Blue Skies, is halfway between Kelly Clarkson's streamlined, mature take on Ashlee Simpson's rock-tinged anthemic pop as evidenced on her fine second album, Breakaway and Clay Aiken's deliberately safe, milquetoast adult contemporary. Musically, it's the right direction for DeGarmo, who isn't even as hip as Justin Guarini, and the hooky songs -- many written by Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks, who also contributed to Lindsay Lohan's debut album, Speak -- evoke DeGarmo's rise to fame. At 17, Diana DeGarmo may be young, but the best moments here -- like her best moments on the show -- prove that she's a likeable, ingratiating singer, particularly when given a chance to belt out a showstopper like "Don't Cry Out Loud."

    This cd ROCKS

I'm not your typical rock n roll music lover. My taste goes more to modern western music and old 50's rock. But I love this cd from Miss Degarmo, not only is she cute as a bug but she can sing her butt off. I would rate her and Carrie Underwood as the two best Singers to come from American idol by far. Every song on this cd is a hit song in my oppinion.

    Diana's talent shines through

Diana DeGarmo's debut album "Blue Skies" is one of the greatest musical acheivements in the past decade. Her impeccable singles such as "Cardboard Castles," "Emotional," "Go On and Cry," and "Till You Want Me" all display Diana's veteran vocal abilities. I highly suggest this album to all fans of music, both young and old.

    Wait for the Clearance Sale

LOVE HER!....hate this travesty of an album. If this is how RCA plans to market her, don't expect a second album.

    Hmmmm..Good Or Bad?

This girl has skills, and RCA is hiding it right now. She is in the wrong genre/during AI Diana had a more soulful voice than this. She is way better than what I am hearing, I guess RCA is more like self promotions. Someone need to sit down and take their time with this girl. She does not deserve this, even though I feel that it was false move for her to be in the top 3. However I wish her the best, and a better management team. She got some skills.

    Diana has done it!

From the first note I heard out of young Diana DeGarmo's mouth, I was in love. Week after week during AI3, she continued to amaze us with her powerful voice and versatile range. I couldn't get enough of her. Blue Skies is no disappointment to Diana. This album proves that she can handle anything thrown her way. From slow ballads like "Go On And Cry" to powerhouse "Then I Woke Up", and who could for get her current hit single "Emotional", Diana continues to entertain and amaze with her power, range, and control. Each song is easily related to for each age group. This girl will be sticking around.

    Diana DeGarmo is a Star

This is a brilliant cd with amazing tracks. Heard them on Promosquad. Particularly love Till You Want Me,Go On And Cry and Then I Woke Up but they are all very good. I live in Spain and ordered early because I cannot buy it here yet.

    A Star and Fab Debut

The long awaited debut from Diana DeGarmo arrives in a few more days. After hearing the album, I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. Diana's voice shines on the album and the song choice is very fitting for her age. However, these songs also appeal to those of all ages. Bravo, Diana! Everyone should buy this album. You won't be disapppointed. Diana shines on this album, shatters and even rises above expectations. The perfect mix of pop/rock (with a hint of country and blues) is perfect for Diana. Personal favourites include All I Never Wanted, Go On and Cry, Cardboard Castles, Dream, Dream, Dream. There is not one bad song on the album. Every song is great. This is an excellently sung, written and produced album.

    She's just 17?

Excellent choices that showcase her versatile voice and performance ability. I'll buy it. Did not like the addition of 'Don't Cry Out Loud'. It disrupts the flow of the CD....

    This album is simply.. amazing..

I expected this album to be great, but.. it simply surpasses all of my expectations! The songs are so varied and unique, from fast and upbeat to slow and moving, and Diana shows that she can sing any genre of music thrown at her.
