Overview

The superb jazz singer Nnenna Freelon knows that the most appropriate way to pay homage to the inimitable Billie Holiday is to approach her music from a purely personal point of view. In essence, a truly smart vocalist understands that Holiday is one-of-a-kind; imitate her style and you come off second class; find your own way into her signature songs and you honor both the legendary artist and assert your artistic worth.
