The blues can mean a lot of things, from being a rather strict musical form to songs with a generally blue feeling or tone that may or may not follow a blues progression. The latter is the case with this 14-track collection. There are some actual blues pieces here, but most of these tracks are more about feeling down and blue than they are anything truly a part of the blues as a musical form. And yes, nothing leads quicker to the blues than a broken heart, and that's the theme here, from Guitar Crusher's "Darling I Miss You" to Miller Anderson's "Boatman" and Coco Montoya's "The Life of My Broken Heart."
