Blues for When You Are Alone

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Leggett
The blues can mean a lot of things, from being a rather strict musical form to songs with a generally blue feeling or tone that may or may not follow a blues progression. The latter is the case with this 14-track collection. There's also the sad misstep of Eamonn McCormack's "A Night in the Life of an Old Blues Singer," which as an unaccountably bad song full of stock cultural clichés that's painful to hear -- and not because it reveals painful truths. If you're having a blue day and you want to keep it that way, then this set will do that, although it's best, perhaps, to listen to it on a bright sunny day.
