Overview

In the same pulse-pounding style as Maya Banks and Kresley Cole, New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair delivers a sizzling erotic romance about a sexy billionaire who’s on the run—and the hit-man-turned-handyman who’s supposed to kill her.

Sex with a stranger. Learn to drive. Learn to cook. Learn to pole dance. Sex under the stars. Buy a truck. These are just a few of the things on Amelia Wentworth’s bucket list, but as the CEO and face of a multi-billion-dollar cosmetic empire, she’s never quite found the time to do them.

Until, after a series of accidents, Amelia discovers that someone wants her dead. But who? And why? She has no time for questions as she changes her name to Mia, buys a secluded fixer-upper near the Louisiana bayou where no one will recognize her, and starts checking things off her bucket list like there’s no tomorrow—which there might not be.

Meanwhile, Cruz Barcelona is a hit man who’s promised himself this will be his last job. Then he’ll take the money and move to a warm, sunny place where he doesn’t have to hide anymore. But when Cruz goes undercover to Mia’s ramshackle house, he starts to realize there’s far more to this poor-little-rich-girl than he thought—and he starts to fall for her. Which is going to make his job a whole lot harder…

Sizzling chemistry adds to the heat of Bayou Cheniere, La., in Adair's knockout contemporary romantic thriller. Hit man Cruz Barcelona always looks out for number one and he doesn't kill anyone who doesn't deserve it. His current target, Amelia Wellington-Wentworth, a cosmetics billionaire gone (presumably) bad, is slated to be his last—and perhaps his best. After all, a woman who supposedly allowed hundreds of Chinese children to slave in her factory clearly deserves to die. Amelia has gone into hiding, and when he finds her, she is definitely not what he'd anticipated. Their first meeting leaves sheets and pages scorching, and the fire just burns hotter as both characters develop into well-rounded and likeable people. When Cruz realizes he may be a pawn in someone else's game, he must decide whether to complete the contract or find out the truth before he and Amelia both become casualties of business. Fast-paced action and tidbits of humor pepper a compact plot wound tight with sexual tension. Agent: Kimberly Whalen, Trident Media Group. (Apr.)

I received an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have read and really enjoyed Cherry Adair's T-Flac series in the past, so I jumped at the chance to read this book. I was definitely thoroughly invested in this book from the beginning. It was fast paced, steamy (an understatement since my kindle nearly caught on fire), and intriguing. Cruz, a hit-man with a conscience, and Amelia (Mia), billionaire heiress in hiding, despite all odds made the perfect couple. The mystery surrounding why anyone wanted Amelia dead, and why Cruz was hired to kill Amelia in the first place, was very interesting. My only issue with it, was it just seemed to be resolved a little too abruptly, without much fanfare. Cruz was definitely a badass, with a lot of baggage, but I suppose anyone that becomes an assassin will have at least some baggage. Mia was easily my favorite character, since she went after what she wanted, and was willing to face possible rejection, but she also didn't cower when she thought that Cruz was in danger. She was certainly a badass character too! It would have been nice to have an epilogue, but I suppose I can just use my imagination. All in all a great book, and I highly recommend it as well as the author.

I don't rush out to read Cherry Adair, but I do generally enjoy her books. This wasn't an exception to that. Things I particularly enjoyed: Mia being the rich and (theoretically) powerful CEO. She's obviously afraid, given the whole "someone's out to kill her" thing, but she's taking advantage of going into hiding by using the time to do things she never had time to do when acting as CEO. Cruz - he's an assassin, but doesn't kill just anyone. He only takes on projects that he believes are just (killing dirty politicians, etc). He might have started out being hired to kill Mia, and indeed had plenty of evidence to do the deed, but then ends up listening to his gut when it tells him something's wrong with the picture. The only thing that occasionally drew me back from the book was Cruz's continued "Oh, I'll screw her but it's just going to make the kill sweeter" attitude through a very big portion of the book. It got repetitive and less believable each time he did it. The plot was rich and rife with suspense, trying to pinpoint just who the villain behind everything really was. I will admit to being surprised by it, which is always great for me. I was glad to see these two find their way to being together and hope there will be more books of this nature from Ms. Adair in the future. Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was talking with Cherry Adair last fall and she said that she had been told since erotic books were so popular that she needed to write one. She said no, she didn’t write erotic books but she would try to come up with something. This book is not an erotic book but it’s one of the best “naughty” books that I’ve read. It’s nothing like her usual books of government agents and wizards but it does have the usual bad guy. Cruz Barcelona is the best of the best in the assassin’s world and this was going to be his last job. He would have enough money to retire so he headed to a little rural town in Louisiana. The first time he met Mia Hayward who was really Amelia Wellington-Wentworth, she mistook him as a male prostitute that she had hired for the night. Amelia is the CEO of Blush, her family’s billion dollar cosmetic company. Someone has been trying to kill her and they hired Cruz to get the job done. He soon has questions about why someone wants her dead. She’s an innocent and he only assassinates the guilty. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I know I said it’s nothing like her books but it really is. It’s fun and exciting and kept me guessing all the way through it as to who wanted her dead. Needless to say, I was wrong with my guess. Read it and I know you will like it.

Has a Cherry Adair fan, I applauded  this book .  True to the title Blush, you will Blush. The story of hot professional killer Cruz and CEO Amelia Wellington-Wentworth  (Mia) will make you want to grab a glass of ice cold water to help wit the heat between them. Once you start this book you won't want to put it down.

Amelia Wellington-Wentworth knows that someone wants her dead. So before that happens she has decided to live. She changes her name and moves to the middle of know where to hide out and cross some items off her bucket list. Cruz has a job to do but when he starts to have feeling for Amelia can he go through with it? Sexy and suspenseful, I loved it!

A new book by Cherry Adair. This centers around Cruz, a paid killer and Mia, a CEO of a cosmetics company that is hiding out after numerous attempts on her life. Without giving the story away, I will say this has lots of sex and a smattering of story. I like a bit more plot to my books, and this is a departure from Ms. Adair's normal writing of romantic suspense. There is romance, but it is much closer to the erotica than romance end of things. And there is suspense, it just takes a while for it to show. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hot and Steamy!!! Cherry Adair has written a story that will make your toes curl with pleasure. Cruz Barcelona has a job to do..to kill Amelia Wentworth, but the job goes awry when he finds himself between her legs and in her bed. This book was an excellent vacation read and I will be reading again and again!

Blush by Cherry Adair Amelia Wellington-Wentworth aka Mia Hayward is in hiding. She has survived several attempts on her life. The run-down fixer-upper outside of New Orleans is the perfect place to stay busy while her security company attempts to find out who wants her and her company destroyed. Cruz Barcelona has been hired to kill Mia. He took the job only because he has evidence that her company is exploiting children in China. But as soon as her meets her, he knows something doesn't add up. Going on gut instinct, he decides to play along with her planned "sex for hire" scenario. A hit man with a conscience? It seems so. This was a great running, chasing, monkey-sex adventure. With her usual flair, the author captures the reader immediately and doesn't let up until the very end. I'm enamored with Cruz. This seemingly tough guy has a very soft center for children, dogs and the sexy womanly curves of the heroine. And what a strong business kick-ass female! She knows exactly what she wants and goes after it. Case in point? She buys and has installed a "stripper" pole then spends hours watching an instructional video and working on moves. Without intent of a male audience. That's confidence.  Cherry Adair us one of my auto-buy authors and this book is a perfect example of why. Entertaining, hot, sexy, and a whole lot of fun.

Cherry Adair has done it again. Blush is a fast paced romantic suspense with lots of humor. I loved Mia, especially her penchant of trying new things. The relationship between Cruz and Mia had a lot of chemistry. I loved Cruz's ethics about only assassinating only those that deserve it. Great read and one to be read again.

Phew... Who's up for a scorcher with a great storyline? Mia is expecting a hot night with a stranger- what she doesn't know is that he's the hit man that has been waiting for the right time to strike. Cruz Barcelona is contracted to kill a power hungry executive that owns Blush cosmetic company but he never expected her to beautiful. Can these two complete strangers figure out whom the other is before it's too late?  Another red hot hit from Cherry Adair. Even though this is streamier than some of her other writing, it's crazy erotic and still has an amazing storyline that keeps you guessing til the end.

This review is from: Blush (Kindle Edition) This is another of Ms Adair's classics! It's the story of Mia, a CEO of a multinational corporation who is in hiding because there is someone trying to kill her. In walks Cruz Barcelona, the assassin hired to kill her. He works his way into her life and bed by talking her into letting him work as her handyman in the fixer-upper she bought. Cruz Barcelona = that name alone is enough to conjure up some really HOT fantasies = but, I digress! This book is, yet again, an all-consuming, fast-paced, action-packed, no one knows who to trust, no one knows what's going to happen next story that you can't put down! If you like an easy slow-paced romance, this is the wrong book for you. On the other hand, if you love a romance that pits two alpha personalities together in one HAWT romance, this is the book you're looking for!

Blush is a hot and steamy romance suspense that is definitely a must read. Cruz Barcelona has been hired to kill the CEO, Amelia Wentworth of Blush Cosmetics, but he never expected to feel any attraction toward her when he finally makes his move to end her life. As the attraction builds and sparks fly Cruz starts to second guess ending her life. Can he carry out his end of the contract? Or will he protect Mia with his life?
