Bo, the lovable, yet mischievous, black Labrador retriever, is back in another adventure. Bo is still a handful for Mrs. Barnett, and now that he has failed training school she asks her thirteen-year-old neighbor, P.J., to try to train him. P.J.'s heartfelt efforts go awry, landing Bo, P.J., and Mrs. Barnett in the vet's office-twice. Now in a splint and a special funnel-shaped collar, Bo is learning how to become better behaved.

While injured, Bo learns to adjust. He even helps a new restaurant owner, the famous baseball player Pete Incaviglia, discover who has been breaking in and destroying the kitchen at night.

Lynn Sheffield Simmons received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in special education from Texas Woman's University. Her award-winning column, "Up the Creek," appears in numerous newspapers and magazines, along with her historical reviews and feature stories. Bo's previous adventures are Bo, the Famous Retriever and Bo and the Missing Dogs. Mrs. Simmons' other titles include Jack Crow Said Hello and Sugar Lump, the Orphan Calf. Each of these books is an Accelerated Reader selection and available from Pelican. Mrs. Simmons lives with her husband, Larry, on a small farm in Argyle, Texas.

Bo, a labrador retriever who has aided the police in the past, helps again when a man in Texas vandalizes a restaurant owner who gets in the way of his business of importing illegal aliens.

Lynn Sheffield Simmons received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a masterís degree in special education from Texas Womanís University. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa honorary fraternity and has taught in public schools for many years. She lives on a small farm in Argyle, Texas.
