Great reminder of why you are building a boat! This book was first published in the 1930s I think and later revised in the 1950s. This reprint doesn't add any modern content, so what you get is an evocative description of boatbuilding as recreation of a bygone era. You can certainly use this as a resource for your own project, but probably not alone. If you need instruction in building modern craft, "Gourgeon Brothers on Boat Construction" is as good as any. What this book does best is reinforce your goal with the reminder of how beautiful boat building is as an art or craft. There is a nice sprinkling of esoteric boatbuilding terminology that gives this book an especially authentic feel!
