A huge page turner for steel-stomachs (Like me.)

AWESOME!!!!!! Okay, everybody's said that, but here it is ONE MORE TIME!!! I had to do this for a book report, and it was VERY EASY. All the characters were very nicely displayed and I could see every moment of the story. One of my friends read Burning Bones and thought it was PERFECT. A MUST READ NOT FOR THE WEAK STOMACH. All the gore made me want to put the book down and keep reading at the SAME TIME!! I would havee read long past my bed time if my booklights had been WORKING.

allright, but not an all-in-all great book

it was good in the sense of gruesomeness and suspense. but somewhat in this one and definitely the second one, they barely focus on the perpetrator. in the second one, all they really say about the murder is his name, and u later find out that it is him. but the guy really has no connection to the people whatsoever. it really wasn't in my top ten. no offense to the people who loved it, but i just didn't find it to be a very good book in my opinion.

    Courtesy of Teens Read Too

Although this book is touted as a young adult read, it's great for anyone who has an interest in shows such as CSI, BONES, FORENSIC FILES, or anything to do with death investigation. I found it thoroughly entertaining, informative, and interesting, and have already ordered the other books in the series--of which there are many. Jenna Blake is a typical eighteen-year-old, leaving her mother's home and setting off for her freshman year at college. Her mother, a surgeon, and her almost-estranged father, a professor at the same University she's attending, both have their own ideas about what Jenna should do with her life. Jenna, who would like to do something in the medical field, has two great fears--passing out at the sight of blood, and causing a patient's death. Her father, a lawyer who teaches instead of practices, thinks he has the perfect solution to her problem by getting her a job as a pathology assistant to the Medical Examiner. Somerset University has it's own medical center and hospital right on the grounds, and Jenna's willing to give the job a try. The fact that her interview takes place during an autopsy is both disturbing and fascinating. And then weird things start happening on campus. One of her professors, who also happens to be one of her father's dearest friends, goes crazy in class, kills a student, and drops dead. Jenna feels she has no choice but to attend his autopsy, and soon finds herself embroiled in finding out what killed him. When the M.E., FBI, a doctor from the Center for Disease Control, and two local Somerset detectives discover that a 'supergerm' involving an insect like a botfly from Costa Rica is involved, everyone gets scared. But it's only Jenna who fears that there's more to this simple explanation than meets the eye. There's a conspiracy underway, and she sets out to discover what it is--to both the detriment of herself and her father. Once I started reading BODY BAGS, I couldn't put the book down! I wanted to know what happened next, and who the bad guy was. I have to say the ending was a complete surprise to me, which is also indicative of a good read. You won't go wrong with the first in the Body of Evidence Series, and, if you're like me, you'll be chomping at the bit to get your hands on the next book. The only thing that disappointed me about the ending of this book was that Mr. Golden failed to give us an answer as to how the bad guy was infecting people with the bug. Although we did find out why, we don't know how, and I really wanted to know! Nevertheless, this is a great read.

    Exciting Escapades

This is the best 'Body of Evidence' book I have read. Golden takes you down a path less traveled with his main character Jenna Blake. A college student just looking for a part time job, Jenna finds herself in a mess full of trouble while working on her first case in the medical examiner's office. Though mocked by many of her peers, she loses herself among the unsolved mysteries of the deceased that come her way. This riveting book will keep you turning the page from start to finish.

    Amazing thank you C.G.

I loved this book. I don't know if its because I like puzzles just like Jenna or what but I loved it. It kept me guessing the whole time. Christopher Golden certainly knows how to write a great book.

    Gross but definately worth reading!!!!

When my librarian told me about this book it just sounded gross but I decided to read it anyway. I'm glad I did. It has everything I would want in a book, action, suspense, a little romance, and even a few gross parts (totally necessary in the plot).

    Great Book

Body Bags shows a refreshing new look at the job of a Medical Examiner. Before all that I saw in society before was the gory parts. This book showed to me that it was a science and a detective job. Also, I enjoyed the watching Jenna Blake go through the 1st part of her college life.

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

This is a fantastic book. It sucks you right in with 3 people dead in the prologue alone, and 3 other deaths later in the book. It includes two of my favorite things in books and movies: action (with some gore, of course) and romance. A must read if you like murder mysteries.

    BOOK REPORT

SUMMARY
This story takes place at Somerset University, just outside of Boston. Jenna Blake, the main character, is attending her first year of college. Jenna would like to be a doctor like her mother but she cringes at the sight of blood and fears the death of a patient during surgery. Her father suggests she go interview for a job with the medical examiner. This part of the story was boring, but really introduced the characters well.

When she arrives at the interview the doctor is in the middle of an autopsy. While examining the body the doctor (Dr. Slickowski) finds the brain is infected with disease. The disease is one in which the doctor has never seen before. The disease is neither something the doctor has ever seen before nor a disease he has seen the last of. This part of the story was introducing the disease to the reader and the author did a good job of doing so. He gave a good depiction of the autopsy as it was happening.

The next day while Jenna is in her International Relations class her teacher, a good friend of her fathers, arrives late and is acting in a strange way. He turns homicidal and goes after his students. The university is in a frenzy trying to figure out what happened and why. In this chapter the author shows the effects of the disease.

The next day Jenna has to assist at Professor Mattei¿s autopsy. She finds that the professor¿s brain is also infected.
As the story progresses Jenna finds herself in the middle of a government scandal. She becomes very interested in this case and is drawn to disease, politics, and mystery. She makes many connections even the investigators haven¿t made yet.

CHARACTER TRACING
Throughout the story Jenna changed from a scared freshmen girl to a senior at heart. When she first got into college she was nervous and anxious to meet her roommate and professors. She was also scared about leaving her mother and living on her own for the first time. As the story progressed, she started to fit in with her friends. She began to have a good time and go to parties with her new friends. When she got her new job, everything changed. She had to work at the hospital until all hours of the night and she left her friends behind for a while.

This job changed her life for the next few months. She became accustomed to her job and she liked her job. When the doctors discovered the disease, her life changed. She became interested in trying to find the cause of it. She became even more interested when her professor dropped dead before her eyes.

Her social life was really shot at this time. She had no time for her friends because she was working in the hospital and on the case. She was really interested in the case and wanted to find out what had killed her professor.

When Jenna gets deeply involved in this case she is scared for her life and when the case is all said and done she is very relieved.

OPINION
The book, Body Bags, by Christopher Golden, is a good book, which kept my interest throughout the story. It had me guessing and wondering what would happen next as I was reading. It starts off a little slow but once you get into the book it is a good read. If you like mystery novels, this would be a good book to pick up and read.

Over all this was a good book and I recommend it to any mystery lover. If you like blood and gore, this is also a good book for you. It has plenty of gore for any reader. If you don¿t like books with blood and gore, I suggest you steer clear of this book because it gets pretty intense.
