    Too Little, Too General

Yeow. Too little time doing research. This writer says that he has been amazed by a friend who approached a doorman and started a conversation with him. This author must be amazed more often than not... This is called civility. Many of the examples he gives, while true, are examples of bureaucratic and social madness. These people are very ill.

This quick review gives a general picture of what to look for and may open the door for those interested to look into more detailed information.

    its what i think

After reading this book i thought about some of the points julius fast made about body language. I agreed with some of the ideas and disagreed with the others. I thought the reading was boring and dragged on. I guess i would recommend this book for others to read.

    A Let Down

This book was just not what I thought it would be. I happen to be very into body language and read about every body language tip and book I can get my hands on. But, the information I found in this book was few and far between. I could find this stuff on a basic search on the internet. I recommend try something else.

    Not recommended.

I found this book to be of little value. It does not recognize the ambiguity of nonverbal communication. It takes some general patterns and tries to turn them into universals of nonverbal meaning. As an instructor of interpersonal communication with a Master's degree in the field, I would NOT recommend this book to anyone. The notion that one can 'read' another's nonverbals and make any definite conclusions is not supported by research. If you like shallow treatments of nonverbal communication, you might like this. But if you want to know what you are talking about, look elsewhere.
