Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Bodyslams! is the most realistic book about pro wrestling."  —Chicago Sun-Times

"What makes Bodyslams! a must-read is Cappetta's analysis and scrutiny of the wrestling business as a whole."  —John Molinaro, Slam! Wrestling

"From the first page, Cappetta takes his readers on an odyssey into the secretive world of professional wrestling. He ends up seeing the good, the bad, and everything in between, all without losing his unquenchable passion for the business."  —Chris Sabga, editor, IGN Wrestling

    Bodyslams!' - It's Outrageous. It's Informative. It's Funny. It's The Best

'Bodyslams!' offers a persepective that is entirely different from Foley's, Chyna's and The Rock's narrowly focused views. This book is not about one individual. Gary Michael Cappetta's memoir is about the entire industry of pro wrestling, how it works behind the scenes and on the road with about 50 of the best known wrestling personalities of today along with some of the legends. Gary's career began with the McMahons' WWF in the seventies and ended 21 years later with Turner's WCW in the late 90's. He shares his personal, honest, 'nothing held back' experiences with superstars like Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Undertaker, McMahon, Booker T, Mick Foley, Buff Bagwell, and the list goes on and on. Cappetta also brings you inside the world of legends like Andre the Giant, Verne Gagne, Bruno Sammartino, Abdullah the Butcher and Harley Race. But even though this book is a sincere, honest, unbiased account of one of the best ring announcers ever to announce a wrestling match, it is Gary Michael Cappetta's easy, conversational style of telling his story that makes this book the best. With pictures (many from his personal collection) to accompany every story that he tells (and there are too many to count), I really feel like I know Cappetta. And he's one guy that I'd like to talk with about pro wrestling, the spectacle's major players and his fascinating life. If there's one book about pro wrestling that you are going to read, make it 'Bodyslams!'. No doubt, it's the best.
