Overview

Their first meeting could have been better. He ran into her and her hot coffee, and raced off with a burn and a snarl.

Their second meeting should have been better. He wore nothing but a towel, at her mercy.

Can two wrong meetings make a right when vanilla is off the table and the steam turns decidedly naughty?

Being sexually attracted to Mr. Tall, Dark and Rude hadn't been on Shelby Vanzant’s agenda. She just wants the man out of her massage clinic before jumping that sexy body. Not professional. Not at all. But when Shelby and Shane Collins run into each other again, the third time's the charm.

Shane has found his match in a sexy, intelligent woman he can't stop thinking about. Shelby is scared, because she might grow to like this guy. The last guy she liked dumped her for someone hotter. She's willing to take a chance--maybe--if her flamboyant mother, Shane's macho best friend and his Casanova of a younger brother don't screw things up. With fate on their side, they might both have a shot at a love they'd stopped looking for.

Editorial Reviews

Romance Junkies - Sarah W
BODYWORK is pure fun! Shane and Shelby are lively characters with interesting and varied lives of their own. Shelby is a hard working professional, a business owner of her massage parlor. Shane is an architect and takes his career seriously. They have great family lives and a close circle of friends but both yearn for someone special. I loved seeing their missed opportunities and how those moments ended up driving them closer together. In addition, there is a great secondary cast of characters t

I just can't get enough of telling people about this book! I'm even going to get a copy for my 90-year old grandmother. Re-reading it is like visiting with old friends. The characters are engaging and real. The interactions between them are real and poignant. It might be a bit disappointing for people who are looking for hard-core erotica, because the real magic is in the parts in between the steam (which is good, too, don't get me wrong).
Mrs. Condit Reads Books - Becky Reviewer
I loved these characters and this twist on the friends with benefits trope. Their dialog was funny one minute and h-h-h-hot as a firecracker the next. Boy, can Shane talk dirty! Must be that Marine background, right? The secondary characters were just as delightful and I’d love to see this book extended into a series with Mac and Maddie getting their own book.

My only problem with Bodywork is that it isn't (yet) on the New York Times Best Seller List. Anyone who enjoys romance novels will LOVE this book. I wouldn't place it in the genre "erotica," it should be sitting on every newsstand and in every bookstore in the front window display right next to Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele in the "romance" section. This is the type of novel that pulls you in and makes you identify with the characters; that makes you reread it like reminiscing with old friends.

    Good read

This is a good romance. Both the hero and the heroine have been burnt in the past. They decide to have a no string, lets not tell friends or family fling. Hijinks and a well meaning but clueless teenage brother enuse.

There are light d/s tones to this novel in parts. They aer however, of the romantic, safe, sane, and completely consenesal variety.

3.5 because i think that after three weeks the heroine should have made the hero work more.

Great story....I read 'Bodywork' in the 5 story boxed set of 'Taste of Decadence'....I've just added Marie Harte to my list of many authors and stories to read....I loved Shane and Shelby's story...It dealt with true emotions with building a relationship...They took steps that made them scared but found the love in each other that they both longed for....I was sooooo happy when I found the next story-'Working Out' about Mac and Maggie...I felt the chemistry between them and loved that story as well...Mac being a Dom and Maggie being so stubborn, they found their connection and fell in love....I would love to have a man like Mac....I also was happy to see Shelby's mom get a love interest....Mac's uncle Ian....There should be a love story to happen for them as well...I am especially pleased with the new story coming next year for Maggie's brother-Trevor....He sounds just as scrumptious....Eventually, we will need a story about Shane's brother-Geo (George)....He seems like a character who needs to have a woman set him straight....I am very happy to encounter stories by Marie Harte...Keep them coming...
