Paranormal Book Club - Tif Olson
Argh! I can not get enough of this series. The secrets and mysteries behind the bond are incredible. Through it we find something very interesting about Miranda which proves enticing. Also we learn the big head honchos behind all the killings and kidnappings happening in the area. You won't believe it, I promise!
All I can say is that I promise you will love this series and not be able to stop reading.

    Packed Full of Everything Good...

The physical and emotional bond between Claire and James is moving at a rapid pace, as is the life changing realizations that Claire is finding in her new life. As Claire learns the truth about the everyday people coexisting in the world she has known all her life, the dangers are also making themselves known. With life altering decisions to be made, Claire finds herself challenging the commitment to her new life and questioning the responsibility her talents have placed in her lap. I love the way the Author portrayed the strong will of Claire in this book. Claire is prepared to speak her mind, in spite of the repercussions she knows will follow. Her readiness to sell her soul to aide in the survival of the ones she loves makes her a character so undoubtedly courageous. HK Savage really touches on the emotions new couples feel as they embark on the beginning stages of a relationship. That up and down rollercoaster ride that new lovers take as they learn about the person lying next to them in bed. Questioning the future and what it holds. I think it's a situation we can all relate to, human or vampire. In the end, Bonded took off from page one. It was packed full of exciting moments and action, constantly speeding ahead. It held the perfect amount of quiet moments where the reader had the opportunity to study the character and ultimately feel the love and sacrifice they endure. And the best part, it's not over yet. Secrets is next on my list and I can't wait.

    :)

Overall a good read, was suprised at the length, 1534 pages vs the 244 pages of the first book. Didn't like how Claire couldn't seem to come to any decision emotionally and stick with it. Other than that enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to start the next one!

    Ready for book #3

I thought the 1st book was written a little better (Claire's character).
Don't get me wrong, I still like the storyline for the series and its characters. The only thing I didn't like about this one (the 2nd in the series) was that the main female character was a bit erratic with her feelings/actions. One minute she's angry then she's sad; she wants to be turned, she doesn't want to be turned, etc. Just too much back and forth with her and the main male character she's involved with just takes her crap without a word. She wasn't like that in the 1st book. Hoping the author mellows her out in the 3rd book.

Readable but not at all original

The best thing that this series has going for it is the price of the NookBooks. The writing is readable but is chock full of typos and grammatical errors. The storyline is not very original at all since it is essentially a combination of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series plus Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. The two main characters, James and Claire, both in their personalities and their relationship mirror almost exactly the relationship between Edward and Bella from the Twilight series. James is an aged vampire in the form of a good-looking young man in his 20's who is conservative, possessive and completely devoted to Bel...err Claire. Claire is a socially awkward teenaged girl with an unusual psychic ability who has not known true love until her meeting with James. They of course, fall madly in love and are both so obsessed with the other that they cannot imagine life apart despite experiencing danger and prospects of war at every turn. Sound familiar? The terminology used throughout this series by HK Savage echo terms originated in Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. Examples: metaphysical marks between human and vampire; Vampire Masters, Human Servants, were animals to call, Vampire Council based in Europe, etc. If I were either Stephenie Meyer or Laurell K. Hamilton I would take more than a little offense at these similarities.

I have to admit, the storyline gets a little more interesting in this Book 2 of the series. However, it is still not an original tale.
