Softcover UNUSED, BRAND NEW, NOT EX-LIBRARY, 96 pages. Michael Paris has inherited a plot in the remote town of Raven Hollow. But on arrival he discovers that he's basically ... inherited a haunted cemetery that the villagers want razed! But when Paris actually gets to meet some of the residents of his inherited headache, it turns out they're not all bad (the vamp, in fact, is quite cute) and maybe the evil is not where it may seem...From the best-selling comic book series, this is a fun spoof of horror cliches. Illustrated in b/w throughout. *****PLEASE NOTE: This item is shipping from an authorized seller in Europe. Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The humor may be a bit too cute and the story line predictable, but Moore's (Deja Vu) new work is everything a comic about friendly monsters should be. Michael Paris inherits a plot of land in the town of Raven's Hollow. He doesn't know it, but the land is a cemetery inhabited by a community of wisecracking demons, among them a hipster werewolf in shades and leather jacket, a sexy vampire, a goofy witch, a talking skeleton and other similar types. Arriving in town with the intention of selling the property, Paris finds the townsfolk prepared to destroy the graveyard and drive out the undead. But after Abbey, the charming and sexy vampire, gives him a tour of the graveyard and its spooky but harmless citizens, Paris decides he's not quite ready to have the place paved over. However, the town's mayor, who has few scary secrets himself, is incensed at Paris's decision and vows to destroy the place. The mystery at the heart of this continuing story (this is the first volume) is overwhelmed by Moore's delightful characters and the sub-plot about Paris's developing relationship with Abbey. Moore's strength is his ear for dialogue and timing. His vivid, contrasting b&w drawings are wonderfully facile and comic; Moore's writing supplies the color. The endless gags can be corny, but will eventually tickle any reader, young or old. His drawings of girl-demons are sexy but not inappropriate, making this a comic that parents can sit down and read with their children without too much embarrassment. (Oct.)
VOYA
Michael Paris and the wisecracking ghouls of the Boneyard series return in this second volume. Having defeated the devil, the gang now faces an even greater threat-the IRS. Paris's deceased grandfather, former owner of the titular graveyard, was behind on his taxes to the tune of $500,000. Now Paris has to pay up. Adding to Paris's headaches is a car crash involving werewolf Ralph and skeleton Sid with a statue of the founder of Raven's Hollow. Sexy swamp-creature Nessie, who has not learned that "no means no," and exiled demon Blix, who is looking for a place to crash, also complicate Paris's life. A celebrity boxing match involving his monster pals might solve some of Paris's problems, but if the bout does not work, there is also lovely businesswoman Roxanna, who is looking to buy the graveyard for altruistic purposes-or so she claims. Although fans of the series will not be disappointed, this collection is not as successful as the first Boneyard, but it does keep the offbeat characters that make the series such fun. Moore's slightly cartoony black-and-white art continues to mesh well with his over-the-top premise. The celebrity boxing match is a great conceit and gives hottie Abby a chance to shine. The major difference between this collection and the previous is that the tone of the humor is quite different-raunchier, more prone to sexual innuendo and bathroom gags. Although this bent will not turn off the average teen reader, it is a switch from the sarcasm and wit of the first installment.
