- LendMe LendMe™ Learn More
If Karen A. Chase absolutely had to turn forty, she decided she could do it gracefully in Paris... for nearly forty days. What began as a blog to communicate with friends and family, became a travel journal filled with over a month of humorous and insightful glimpses into her Paris adventures, each of which could be read in about forty seconds. Journal entries are interspersed with Chase's own inspiring photography. Additional, longer stories richly fill in details allowing readers to reflect upon her experiences with food, travel, photography, Parisians, writing, and love in the City of Lights. Through her Parisian- and self-exploration, comes a book that brings to life the richness of Paris as seen through the eyes of an adventuress joyfully turning 40.

I enjoyed this essay about a girl who spends 40 days in Paris to celebrate her 40th birthday. It was so much fun I want to visit myself. Maybe for my 75th birthday. Thanks Karen Chase. I loved it.
For many women, regardless of age, traveling to somewhere romantic and exotic like Paris is on our lifetime wish list. I loved reading about Karen Chase's experience turning 40 in Paris and celebrating her birthday by doing something she always wanted to. As a woman in my 30s who traveled to Paris when I was younger, I gobbled this book up and enjoyed the amazing photographs and details of all the things Karen did and saw while in Paris: some things you would know to do in Paris and some hidden gems that make me want to return ASAP - maybe when I turn 40! Women of all ages will enjoy this travel memoir and want to start planning the trip they've always wanted to take - with their girlfriends, family or alone! The perfect read, quick and full of great photography and inspiration!
