The Book Of Elves And Fairies - For Story Telling And Reading Aloud And For The Children's Own Readingby Frances Olcott, Milo Winter
Pook Press celebrates the great Golden Age of Illustration in children's literature. Many of the earliest children's books, particularly those dating back to the 1850s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. Pook Press are working to republish these classic works in affordable, high quality, colour editions, using the original text and artwork so these works can delight another generation of children. Milo Winter (1888-1956) was an American illustrator of the Golden Age, who illustrated dozens of books throughout the 1910s, 20s and 30s and served as the art director of the Childcraft series. He was a master of animal drawings, which he could render anatomically accurate to the last detail.
