Meet the Author

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marie-Celie Agnant has lived in Quebec since 1970. A poet, novelist, and storyteller for children and adults, her work has been published in Haiti, France and Canada and translated into Spanish, English, Dutch, and Korean. Translator Zilpha Ellis recently retired as an Associate Professor of French and the Coordinator of the African Studies Programme at York University. She lives in Mississauga, Ontario.
