This book goes through the history of magic starting with stone monoliths and ley lines and it works its way up to relatively current history. It has a few things to try like dowsing,or an alchemy potion made from lemon balm. The authors told the truth about magic and didn't sugar coat some of what the magicians did. It has a few points with Alester crowley and johon Dee that scared me a little. Some books make everything seem too sanitized and never acknowledge the reality of a dark side. This one told both sides.
