Overview

This book is both a personal statement and a synthesis of certain recurrent and prevalent themes in the field of international political economy. Although I have endeavored to keep the personal and synthetic elements distinct from one another, I have presented my own views on selected questions of international political economy and have also incorporated those ideas and theories of others that are most relevant to the theses being developed.

The book, The Political Economy of International Relations, is a book, which is nonfiction, was partially influenced up and to around the time the book was written in 1987, in reflection to the political economy and factors, which was going on throughout the world. The book is quite complex to read or the very least intimidating to a general audience. International Political Economy covers a broad aspect that is tied with politics and economy, and Gilpin in his book gives his audience a wide range of basic ideals and perspectives for the reader to work on and comprehend Although it may not be formularized as some people may like, it will give the readers a theoretical foundation to base their argument or thoughts on at school, or perhaps maybe in even work (of course based on what you do). This book sets the standard because of its value in the study of economic theory due to Gilpin¿s background and how it pertains to the book, and Gilpin organizes the sub-topics for discussion in IPE with relative ease an important note should be stated that the level of writing is extremely complex.
