Booknews
The BBC World Service made a series of programs in the mid-1990s that explored the question of Muslim belief through a series of interviews with Muslims who came from a wide spectrum of Islam. This book is made up of the transcripts of those interviews, grouped under subject headings, but without additional explanatory material. Unfortunately, the Muslims interviewed are confined to anonymity, only Bowker is identified in the text. Bowker, who teaches at Gresham College in London and at North Carolina State U., provides a glossary and a list of suggested additional reading. Annotation c.
