Overview

New edition of a text that combines developmental and clinical approaches to child and adolescent psychopathology. Mash (psychology, U. of Calgary) and Wolfe (psychology and psychiatry, U. of Western Ontario) trace the developmental pathways for emotional and behavioral problems as they unfold, using first-person accounts and case histories to link key topics and individual experiences of children and families. For each disorder, they offer coverage of the interplay among child, family, peer, school, and cultural influences; interactions among risk and protective factors to explore why some children cope despite adverse early circumstances and others do not; gender differences in symptom expression, causes, pathways, and outcomes; ethnocultural factors; and intervention and prevention.

Do not waste your time using an e-textbook version of this book. It is not viewable on my Samsung Tablet, the copy features from the book are horrible to try to take notes with, the entire book freezes up on a regular basis. I literally just wasted the past 7 minutes of my life trying to get the e-text to turn to Chapter 12. I wish I could comment on the information in the book, but it is so difficult to get the e-textbook to OPEN and function that I am having a difficult time getting into the information. I wish Icould return it. I will NEVER waste this much time, and energy, on such a disappointing version. I thought an e-text would be easier to carry around than the actual textbook, but I will never make that mistake again. One last thing, NookStudy must still be working out glitches. My computer has been trying to install an update from NookStudy but it continually fails to complete. I never have issues installing any other updates for any other thing on my computer, only the update for NookStudy. Seriously, worst purchase of my entire undergraduate career!
