If you¿re going to learn Latin American Spanish, the product to buy is Learning Spanish Like Crazy. If you want a great Spanish-English dictionary that has a great coverage of Latin American vocabulary, Merriam-Webster¿s is the way to go. The hardback version is more comprehensive, but this one is small enough for travel which is why I bought it. Plus, it has a pronunciation guide for whenever I get stumped. They didn¿t leave much out here in order to conserve space. You¿ll still find verb conjugations, synonyms, idioms and all the other usuals. And it only cost be 6 bucks. You can¿t beat that price.

This dictionary along with the Spanish version of it, Diccionario Espanol-Ingles Merriam-Webster is a great book for a new learner. It gives you over 100,000 words and more than 10,000 entry words and phrase. It has words that other dictionary's don't even think of. I recommend everyone uses this! I am in my last year of junior high and my spansih teacher recommended we bought this dictionary and I am most certainly glad she did, it is gonna stay with me through out life!

Barnes and Noble offers its Nook readers an integrated English dictionary that makes it possible to touch a word in the text in order to display the definition. Though Barnes and Noble sells ebooks in español, it does not offer its readers an integrated Spanish dictionary. In fact, it does not offer its readers any decent Spanish dictionary in ebook form. If I can't touch text for a definition, I would at least like to be able to open a Spanish dictionary on my Nook for a definition. Amazon offers its Kindle readers a version of this same Merriam Webster dictionary in integrated form, making it possible for Kindle readers to position a cursor at a word in order to display the definition. Why can't Barnes and Noble offer its Spanish-language readers the same service that it offers its English-language readers? Why can't Barnes and Noble match Amazon? This is not a difficult thing to do. It's a question of how much B&N values its Spanish-language customers.

I recommend this for middle school students, as it has been very useful for me. The entire middle school at my school uses this dictionary. I can write full essays without a problem, and the amount of wrods you would never think to put into a dictionary has helped create a much more normal conversation for me. I do feel that this isn't a very good dictionary for Spanish speakers, however. Great dictionary otherwise!

This is a very good pocket dictionary for English speakers who want to learn Spanish, but not very good for Spanish speakers who want to learn English. The explanatory notes are in English, and the grammar section, which is very good, explains only Spanish grammar.

I first got this book five years ago, and I still use it even today. Spanish was my second language, which paved the foundation towards my learning of the other Romance languages. Spanish is one of the only two languages that I ever studied in school (along with French), and it was this book that made it all possible. I believe if there was a better Spanish-English dictionary to be had, I would've found it by now.

This is such a great dictionary. It includes grammar notes, helpful conjugations and typical dictionary stuff. It's got words that you would never think would be in a little span-engl dictionary. It is wonderful, a must-have if you're travelling to a latin-american country :)

Placed an order Aug. 25th for 8 books. They said ready to be shipped Aug. 26 or 27. Claimed free shipping in 3 to 5 business days. One book was put on backorder. They held my entire order for several weeks. Called to complain and spoke to a supervisor. Promised books would go out priority and would have them in time. Day before she left for college, no books. Called again, said the books did not get shipped. Supervisors are very good saying sorry but I had to pay top dollar at her college for the books. I am definitely switching back to the company that always sent me books in a timely manner. They separated orders if there was a back order and also gave free shipping. Sorry to you Barnes and Noble. Best of Luck to you.
