Initially Caron Rider started teaching computer software, hardware, and networking in the 1990s. After some years that morphed into tutoring high school dropouts for the GED. She found working with at-risk teenagers so rewarding that she changed her undergraduate major to Education. Upon graduating from the University of South Alabama with a B.S., she began teaching high school history. She now lives in rural Missouri with her two kids, two dogs, two cats, and her father.

Once again this series brings together new adventures and a mix of history with a fictional twist that was so entertaining in book one. For me the journal entries and remembrances of historical events scattered throughout the book were my favorite parts of the read.
