I used this book to study for the biology Praxis exam. While it wasn't written specifically for the Praxis, the chapters mirror the content categories on the test well. It's been 15 years since my last biology class. This book was thorough while still being only a little over an inch thick. It's far and away a much better study guide than the XAM Praxis Biology book. Sometimes the text was a little denser than it had to be, and a lot of the diagrams were confusing and poorly done. However, this was mostly for topics that a video can capture better than a static picture can (YouTube was a great resource here). It is an excellent study guide for the Praxis and probably for a range of other exams, like AP biology, though it's not advanced enough for the GRE biology test.
