Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Tonya Kappes
“Packed with Punch...D.D. Scott has hit another one out of the park in her cross over into the mystery genre! I loved reading about the high-heeled, plastic badge toting Zoey Witherspoon. With her Naked Juice to help pump her up, and not to mention Roman as eye candy. Zoey's two worlds collide forcing her to jet across the WORLD discovering new bodies and figuring out the who-dun-it! D.D is the QUEEN of chick-lit gone country with a mystery twist!"
ENT - Ereader News Today
“...one of the top Romantic Comedy/Humorous Mystery writers out right now.”
Amazon - Jeff Lee
“Who Needs Bourne When You’ve Got Zoey Witherspoon...This is one fast and furious, funny as H-E-Double Hockeysticks caper story, and I literally found my abs aching from laughter by the end of the first chapter. D.D. Scott is already a master at wise-cracking characters and action that moves as fast as any Ludlum flick. In fact, think of Zoey Witherspoon as Jason Bourne – with a good set of French tips and a designer holster for her Glock."
Kindle Nation Daily - Steve Windwalker
“...who doesn’t need a laugh? Laugh ‘til you (you fill it in) with D. D. Scott’s BOOTSCOOTIN’ BLAHNIKS, and more...”
Amazon - Pj Schott
“As soon as I read her first book, “Bootscootin’ Blahniks,” I put all her books on my Kindle. They have it all…romance, high fashion, adorable animals, feisty women, gorgeous guys, quirky characters, good food, great dancing…The ultimate escape without spending a fortune on a vacation.”

    Mildly entertaining

This collection of stories were entertaining enough to read through. However, too much of the verbage was clearly taken from other novels - mainly the well written Stephanie Plum novels.

The biggest problem I had with the collection was all the MANY typos!! Not just typos but misuse of the correctly spelled word - they may sound the same but definitely do not mean the same thing. Big shudders!!! The author should've hired some junior high school students to do her proofing rather than who she used; or perhaps there was no proofing at all!

I can only say that I'm glad I didn't spend much money on this collection.

    Over uses bad analogies

I've only finished the first book in this set. It is poorly edited and not a very smooth read. I find all the analogies to be more distracting than witty.

    Where is the mystery?????

I have read the first two books in the Bootscootin' series and I am diappointed in them. I find them to be more romance than mystery. I would be hard pressed to define these books as mysteries. I will probably finish the series but would think twice about buying other books by the author. The cost was cheap but still not worth it to me as I like more mystery than romance. Also I found a lot of mistakes in the books. They are very poorly edited. It distracts some from the reading.

    Not Good

These were pretty bad, full of the throbing groin and hard, uncomfortable pressure against his tight jeans. Extremely thin on plot and very poorly developed characters. Don't waste your money.

    Could not finish

Waste of time to any avid reader. I did try up to page 65. Tries to hard to be witty and has no flow to the storey.

    Ridiculous

The bootscootin series was fairly entertaining, however the cozy cash series was horrible. I feel like the author just gets an idea in her head and interjects it into the story, not remembering details she used from previous books. I actually stopped reading this series, which is is rare since i always finish a book even if its not exceptional.

    cheap

I bought this boxed set because it was cheap. I have only read the first one so far. Needed a break before I go on. It was ok. I will finish the others and hope they get better.

    Decent box set.

I found all the books to be witty and humorous...some were a little drawn out and too informing...and it was a little strange how we went from city girl trying to make it in music city with cowboys and friends in the first book...to mafia families and billions of dollars and secret agent like characters at the end. It was an interesting read and for books 1-3 i could actually picture them happening but 4-6 were a bit far fetched...still interesting reads though...and a 6 book box set for $2.99...it was worth it!

    Great series of books!

I loved the first three, and went crazy when I realized the last three followed the first three. Wish I had saved them for my vacation. A fun series. Highly recommended for big time relaxation with some intrigue and lots of laughs.

    Wanted: Editor

I am not a book snob. I enjoy a good story and will forgive a few issues, but this goes too far. The stories themselves are pretty good but I can only assume that Ms. Scott has no concept of what an editor does and clearly doesn't own a grammar guide. Both would be of immense use in these books as the editorial gaffes and grammatical errors just get worse in each succeeding book.
