Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Ellen Bifano, MD (SUNY Health Sciences Center at Syracuse)
Description: This is a book for children to help them understand about prematurity. It is simply and sensitively written and guides readers through many of the problems that preterm infants and their families experience.
Purpose: This book fills a void, especially for siblings of preterm infants and for children who were preterm infants.
Audience: It is targeted for children, and my 10-year-old daughter enjoyed reading the book.
Features: The photographs accompanying the text are nicely done. The is a nice bibliography, but the glossary is too sophisticated for the level of the book.
Assessment: This would be a very nice book to give to families of preterm infants, especially those with siblings.
