Overview

The book consist in a biography narrating author’s life since childhood in Havana City, Cuba after being born under a Socialist-Communist dictatorship, then the years on communist boarding schools with interesting and funny stories, later becoming a jet military fighter pilot in the ex Soviet Union including flight training narratives, some poems, and finally confronting the "Gestapo" of the Cuban dictator behind bars, with interviews and pictures.

The title in English translates as "Born Motherland or Death" which was a common slogan used in society, even still today after many years, and by the Cuban dictators and their blind followers.

He dreads this suffering will remain erased as it pertains to the story which he lived in the Cuba of 'those days' under the influence of a totalitarian repressive system guided by the hand of the sickle and the hammer from the Muscovite Kremlin; the author retells also his experience and conversion to the Christian Faith founded by Jesus of Nazareth 2000 years ago, not without describing first the procedures happening in the Socialistic System during the times when they used to indoctrinate the youth in the Marxist-Leninist conceptions of a Communist Empire and its territorial ambitions led by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; and throughout his years as a supersonic fighter jet military pilot in the Cuban Air Force.

I am a woman over eighty years old who loves to read, and found this story very interesting: as a Christian, as well because it is a real life biography, which always I've been reading throughout the years. The young man goes through peril times in the island of Cuba under the oppressive Communist System and finally found great Light at the end of the road. Good to know that he is among us today and hopefully that Socialism never comes here for the goodness of our children and grandchildren.

This is a remarkable story of a young man going through Socialism and Communism. I read first his fiction book entitled `Adventures of Victorino Chang', and decided to read his biography. Sometimes I see here in our country people playing to de radicals and socialists. They need to read this real life experience and see what the Castro's Socialist Hell is all about. Certainly I will read more of his books.

An early ex-military jet pilot; here he graduated with a Master of Science (MS) at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), and with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU); both in U.S.A.

    Born Motherland or Death is a great book about the cuban regimen

    Born Motherland or Death is a great book about the cuban regimen and it'seffect on a young man. It's a wonderfull testimony of how can a atheist survive comunism and obtain hope through an encounter with the Lord Jesus while in prison.I highly recommend this book to all who need to read something different and refreshing and who is in a spirituall search.
