The stories may target two- to five-year-olds, but the musical savvy and performances of the characters are a delight for children several years older as well. Resplendent in composition and consistently vivacious, the soundtrack CDs that accompany the seasons on DVD proudly bear music director (and former Lounge Lizard) Evan Lurie's trademark mastery of genres and sweeping travels through bygone decades. As they say, "kid tested, mother approved" -- and then some.

    Great CD

My daughter loves this show and she loves to sing the songs. Not great once it's played over and over but my daughter still loves it.

    Great for Backyardigans fans

My Son is 3 1/2, and he loves The Backyardigans. I Originally wanted something that the kids can listen to before bed, but this is absolutely the opposite of that...it's the ultimate party album for toddlers. My kids would get up on their feet and start dancing and singing and cheering everytime I put it on. Great choice for play time and party time!

    Fun for the whole family

Listening and dancing to this CD has become a nightly ritual for us. We have 2 boys under 3 and 2 dogs under 3 who all love to dance and run around to the music. Both my husband and myself enjoy the beat and lyrics as well. Our eldest sings along and often we catch him singing the songs while he is playing (without the cd on). We've also got it on our ipods and play it while out on our morning walks. For me it's got a great beat for walking/working out to and unlike many children's cd's I can listen to it over and over without being bored or annoyed! I highly recommend this cd to everyone with kids! The voices are great as well.

    A reviewer

This is music that won't drive even the most discerning parent insane. Its a great way to expose your child to different types of music without worrying about the lyrics. We have the first two CDs and will be purchasing this as well. Between The Backyardigans and Dan Zanes, all parents of young children can be protected from the horrible drivel of Barney, et.al.
