Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Like her Borrowers the author is resourceful, inventive, and patient. . . . Her fantasy continues to be totally real and totally acceptable."—The Horn Book
Children's Literature - Patricia Timbrook
Unlike other fantasy stories in which humans instantaneously had shrunk bodily to keyhole-sized proportions, the borrowers, once humans themselves in ages past, gradually shrank in their spirits first and then in their bodies: their downsizing an outward testimony to the shrunken "good" that once flourished in all humans. By the curious nature of her main character, Arietty, author Norton weaves into this snail-paced, survival-adventure, experiences that most children at some point will meet-traveling to unknown places, handling personal relationships; leaning values, manners, and hygiene; and adjusting geographically to where one lives. Dappled with sketches throughout, this book in the "Borrowers" series now a major motion picture will delight the appetites of who enjoys a story with generous helpings of details, and a slow simmer to a pleasing dénouement. 1998 orig.

    Borrowers

I really enjoyed reading these books. But i wish the end in this book would of told more. It almost needed another chapter. Other then it not telling what happens later on or in a year or so, it was very nice book. It was fun imagining what the Clocks new home looked like and the people too.(i really enjoyed peagreen) in fact this was probily my faveret Borrowers book out of them all! I would recimend this mostly to people who(like me) like to "make thing out of nothing", such as a spool of thread for a chair. I child any age could read these, and i would recimend they do too. - Nicole M.

    Highly recommended

Comparing to the Nook Color tablet that I owned for two years, the HD+ has a much nicer display. The video is now integrated into the Nook Eco system which is nice. I also like the fact that the content that I built up in the last couple of years are well managed in the cloud, making transition to the HD+ fairly simple.

This new tablet is finally Google Play enabled, making it much more versatile than before. This definitely made a difference in my decision to purchase.

On the down side, dictionary and e-reader features are still unusable for magazine articles which was a little disappointing.

The initial impression after one day is quite good. Now I just have to find a new home for the old trusty color tablet.
